By Teachers’ Day, we have posted an interview with the chair of the SSU research-to-methodology council for pedagogical education, Corporate Chair of the Department of Russian Philology and Media Education Olga Dmitriyeva. Read it in the Research City section.
It has the answers to the main questions – what is changing in the university training of teachers and how to improve the status of the profession in the future.
Olga Dmitriyeva, a teacher in the third generation, remembered how many postcards her mother had received from her students by mail for the holiday, and it had strongly impressed her. She shared the memories of her school teachers and university mentors, as well as how she keeps in touch with graduates.
In the interview, we discussed what teachers do in terms of the new federal standards that change the very concept of education. Nowadays, teachers must use a variety of pedagogical technologies, they are actively involved in Internet communication, solve computer security problems in network communication, and must be able to rationally apply distance learning methods, which were forced, but proved effective. They must be prepared to do all this.
Modern teachers have to work in an inclusive learning environment, when there are children with disabilities in the classroom and it is necessary to work with them individually. And the university develops courses taking into account all relevant requirements.
Olga Dmitriyeva answered the question about the practical effect of the Teachers in the Educational Paradigm strategic project implemented at SSU as part of the Priority 2030 programme. Special attention is paid to the Corporate Department of Russian Philology and Media Education.
