Dear members, commissars, and commanders, as well as veterans of the student brigades movement! I sincerely congratulate you on the holiday – Russian Student Brigades Day!
The holiday began to be celebrated relatively recently. But the movement itself has turned 65 years old this year, and the Russian Student Brigades are 20 years old. The members of the student brigades have played a great role in the history of our country – they took part in the construction of the Baikal-Amur mainline, the development of Siberia, and the Far East, the construction of large industrial facilities, participated in natural disasters and man-made disasters control.
The student brigades are an integral part of university life. This is a real personnel pool, where not only professional skills are acquired, but also invaluable experience in working in a team, as well as communicating and interacting with people.
Over the years of the movement existence, millions of young men and women have joined it. At Saratov State University, the student brigades have long and glorious traditions. It is no coincidence that the regional headquarters of the student brigades is based in SSU. And today, our members are actively participating in the public life of the university, the city, and the country, conduct charity events, implement social projects, provide support to the mobilized and their families, veterans, and socially vulnerable groups of the population – to everyone who needs help here and now.
Over 1,000 of our activists are working as builders, counsellors, teachers, guides, etc. Our students are showing good results, their commitment, and active citizenship. We are proud that such active, initiative, and caring young people are studying here.
On this festive day, I would like to thank the veterans of the movement for their contribution to the development of our country and a worthy example that new generations strive to follow, and all the members and commanders of student brigades for their enthusiasm and dedication.
May you have new achievements, interesting projects, and vivid impressions! May the labour movement remain a source of inspiration and successful self-development for you.
