I sincerely congratulate you on Defender of the Fatherland Day!

The date of February 23 has a special place in the history of our state, reminds of the connection of all generations of defenders of the Motherland, heroism, courage, and bravery of the Russian people.

Today, we honour all those who have fought for the freedom of the country during the difficult war years and who are standing guard over its security and independence today.

On February 23, we turn over the pages of the valiant history of Saratov State University, recall the heroic deeds of the SSU students and staff during the Great Patriotic War. On this day, I would like to say special words of gratitude to the veterans. Your feat is an example of courage and dedication, a source of spiritual strength for all of us.

The staff and students of our university continue the glorious traditions of their predecessors. They conduct important research in defence and security, train highly qualified specialists for the defence industry, and provide support to military personnel participating in their SMO and their family members.

Do not forget: February 23 is not only a military holiday. This is a holiday for everyone who is ready to stand up for their family, their home, and their country. It is a celebration of courage, honour and valour.

On this day, I wish all defenders of the Fatherland good health, prosperity, and success in their work for the benefit of the Motherland. May peace and harmony always reign in our country!
