Saratov State University gets ready to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Great Patriotic War Victory. Our University made a great contribution to the country’s defense in 1941-1945. Over 600 students and university professor were off at the front at the first days of the war. One of them was the University rector D.I. Luchinin.
The celebratory events begin with SSU Academic Council ceremonial meeting on May 5 at 14:00 in Bldg. X. All students and university staff are invited to the meeting.
On May 6, a ceremonial meeting takes place near the Memorial sacred to the memory of those who died at the Great Patriotic War. A concert begins on campus at 10:00; every one could try soldiers’ porridge. GTO competition between SSU and SSMU students starts afterwards.
On May 12, a traditional SSU Day at the Victory Park takes place at 10:30. It opens with a concert. The visitors could participate in a “May day light” ball. Entertainment platforms will work at the park where everyone could play “Fort Boyard”, shoot with a bow, or write a “letter to a soldier”.
