On Monday, the grand opening of the 5th Regional Meeting of Student Brigades of Saratov Region took place on the main stage of Saratov State University. Honoured guests, veterans of the movement, and 400 young activists gathered in the Assembly Hall. The event is timed to coincide with two anniversaries at once – 60 years since the birth of the student movement in Saratov Region and 10 years since the beginning of the development of the regional branch.
The Singing Band of SSU with the song We started the solemn event.
Chair of the Rectors’ Council of Saratov Region, SSU Rector Alexei Chumachenko noted the importance of the work of student brigades and recalled his own years at the headquarters. ‘It is common to say words of gratitude on anniversaries. I would like to address them to our Central Headquarters. They do a lot for us, for the development of the Saratov branch. At one time, we became a “pilot” for the development of the educational sphere in the RSB. SSTU trained concrete reinforcement workers, and this was my first profession in the work record book, as a student brigade member. The Agrarian University trains millers and turners every year, and this is important. SSU trains service teams and counsellors. We are supported because you are doing a great job. Thank you for your hard work and irrepressible energy!’
Alexei Chumachenko awarded Vice-rector for Social Work and Academic Affairs of Gagarin State Technical University Anna Strogova with a letter of appreciation from the Rectors’ Council for her active contribution to the development of student brigades in Saratov Region.
Chair of the Saratov Region Youth Policy Committee Angelina Belovitskaya and Commander of the District Headquarters of the Student Brigades in Volga Federal District Alexei Nagin made welcoming speeches.
Angelina Belovitskaya shared the joy of the participants of the movement. ‘It is great that Saratov, Saratov State University, has become the place of the meeting again. I hope you will spend time productively these days!’
She presented a letter of appreciation for participating in the BAM 2.0 All-Russian labour project of JSC Russian Railways to the master of the Brigade construction brigades Artyom Bashlykov.
Commander of the District Headquarters of the Student Brigades of Volga Federal District Alexei Nagin summed up the year results and congratulated its members. ‘The 60-year history is our great merit, and, first of all the merit, of the veteran movement. Thanks to our senior mentors. The task of the young generation sitting in the hall is to remain in the history of the movement, Saratov Region. This year has been very productive – you have grown qualitatively and quantitatively and have taken 21st place in the All-Russian headquarters ranking. But you deserve more! Thank you for your great ideas and deeds, inner core. Happy holiday to all!’
Sofia Morozova, the commander of the Taiga construction brigade, received a letter of appreciation from the district headquarters of Volga Federal District for her labour achievements in the third labour semester.
At the event, the In Rhythm team danced for the guests to the song Red Thread. Julia Kostina performed the traditional song Back to the Brigade, and Mikhail Makhotrov sang Hey, Brother together with the audience. Valeria Bochkaryova and the dancing team performed Dance, RSB, and the GrizzlyCrew team presented the humorous dancing item Bricklayer Kuzmich. The main performance of the evening was the song Furious Construction Brigade performed by Ali Zakimov.
