On December 12, the All-Russian Congress on Youth Policy and Organisational Work started in Moscow. Saratov State University is represented at a large-scale forum by SSU Rector Alexei Chumachenko and Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Organisational Work Anton Golovchenko.

The event is taking place at the venues of the Russia exhibition at VDNH and the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia as part of the All-Russian youth event, the 2023 Your Turn student forum.

The congress was attended by more than 500 vice-rectors responsible for the implementation of youth policy and educational activities, representatives of federal executive authorities and representatives of the offices of plenipotentiary representatives of the President of the Russian Federation in federal districts.

First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Sergei Kiriyenko and Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Valerii Falkov welcomed the representatives of universities at the opening session.

Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Olga Petrova stressed that communication with students should be within the framework of an open and sincere dialogue. ‘Our main message is the maximum departure from formalism. It should not be in the work of vice-rectors who communicate directly with the guys. It is easy to work with active youth, but now it is very important to reach out to those who are not yet very involved in the ecosystem of youth policy. And we have a lot of interesting formats: these are large-scale forums, all-Russian projects, volunteer actions, sports events and much more. I am sure that during the three days of the congress it will be possible to exchange experiences, clarify all issues and outline ways to solve the tasks that we all face.’

As part of the congress, participants will determine the vectors of implementation of educational activities and youth policy in universities and current mechanisms of interaction with the student community in 2024, as well as summarize the results of district seminars and meetings. In addition, the vice-rectors will take part in summarizing the work of the student areas of the Your Turn forum and will visit the Russia international exhibition-forum.

The congress is organised by the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of Russia and Rosmolodezh.
