Saratov University has hosted a presentation of the Saratov and Engels museums at the II All-Russian Forum titled Museum Today: from Traditional Practices to Innovative Approaches. The forum started with the Museum and University. Integration under the Pushkin Card State Programme event. The moderator of the venue was Arts Director of the SSU Student Club Mikhail Vinogradov.
The forum was opened by Director of the ROSIZO Saratov Branch of the State Museum and Exhibition Centre Dmitrii Andreyev. ‘The Pushkin Card is a unique project proposed by the President, thanks to which anyone can literally immerse themselves into art. I hope that all of the students who are sitting here have the cards. Education and culture help the younger generation learn their history.’
Deputy Chair of the Committee on Public Relations and Tourism of the Saratov Administration, Ekaterina Voronzheva, made a welcoming speech. ‘We have museums that are famous for their displays. We are ready to support them, hold joint events, and attract more tour groups. Moreover, we have been discussing the ways to involve schoolchildren in the project. We hope that both schoolchildren and students will be happy to use this opportunity.’
Employees of cultural institutions and Saratov museums discussed the development of the Pushkin Card project. Scientific Secretary of the Chernyshevsky Museum-Estate Alexander Semenov said that from the first days the museum-estate had joined the online sales programme using Pushkin cards, recalled the history of the institution, and presented traditional events and projects being developed.
The integration of the Fedin Museum into the cultural programme was presented by Head of the Research-to-Education Office Ulyana Skazkina and the curator of projects, a PR specialist Nikolai Zaichenko.
‘Culture is emotional security, it is word of mouth. Our museum is a literary one, The World book by K.A. Fedin lives in it, where the city of Saratov is glorified. We want you to know everything about the magnificent past of our Russian culture,’ Ulyana Skazkina said. The speakers talked about games, quizzes, a series of public lectures, as well as two new projects for students – The Psychology for a Screenwriter in Creating a Plot Conflict and The Information Style: From Posts in Social Networks to Scientific Texts.
The Saratov Regional Museum of Local Lore showed the participants of the meeting the programe of the next excursions and the detailed navigation on the site. The manager for the promotion of the museum product, Dmitrii Grabenko, noted the Choose a Museum contest, where one could apply till November 1 by shooting a video about the exhibit, visiting the museum, or their impressions.
Deputy Director for Research Tatyana Sadovnikova spoke on behalf of the Engels Museum of Local Lore. She marked that the museum had become one of the first participants of the Pushkin Card federal project. They held basic lectures, excursions, and interactive programmes on history-to-ecology, local history, and patriotism.
Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Organisational Work Anton Golovchenko noted that due to the Pushkin Card project young people had an opportunity to learn more about culture. ‘With the help of the Pushkin Card, students and schoolchildren attend various educational events that are held in our city. Every year, thanks to this programme, students are more and more actively joining the cultural environment of the region.’
The forum continued with The Museum and Its Partners expert session, which was held in the form of the Culture 2.0 open lecture hall. The moderator was Head of the Department on Work with the Forum Programme, Directorate of the St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum Alyona Yasinskaya.
The reports were made by Julia Konshina, a partners specialist of the Moscow Museum of Transport, and Daria Kovalchuk, Director of Development of the Museum of Russian Impressionism. She spoke about the results of work in 2016-2022, the mission of the cultural institution, and the museum cooperation with the media.
Honoured Artist of Russia, CEO of the Russian National Museum of Music, President of the Association of Brass Bands and Winders and the Association of Music Museums and Collectors Mikhail Bryzgalov took part in the forum. ‘The main goal of museums is to transmit memory, and the ways to do this are constantly changing. This is a place that not only preserves exhibits, but also attracts visitors. We need to do everything to show society the work that people devote their lives to. It is impossible to know everything, we need information, artifacts, exhibits, and objects of time.’
To remind, Saratov University became the main venue of the forum, which was held on September 28 and 29 and was timed to coincide with the Year of Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia.
