Sixth Cohort of Young Managers School Started in Saratov Region

On June 7, the Government of Saratov Region hosted the opening of the sixth cohort of the Young Managers School.

The event was attended by Vice-Governor of the region Igor Pivovarov, Chair of the Council of Municipalities of Saratov Region Association Lyudmila Zhukovskaya, representatives of executive authorities, rectors of the regional universities, graduates, and students of the Young Managers School of Saratov Region. The host of the ceremony is a graduate of YMS, Director of the Central Library System of Volskii Municipal District Regina Yudina.

This year, 142 people applied for the project. The evaluation of candidates was carried out at the sites of educational institutions – the P.A. Stolypin Institute of Management and SSU. According to its results, by the decision of the commission, 100 candidates with the highest rating were enrolled in the Young Managers School.

The participants of the new school cohort were congratulated by Victor Cheplyaev, Director of the P.A. Stolypin Institute of Management, a branch of RANEPA. ‘Today, half of the regional tasks are solved with the help of effective management. To do this, we need people who are able to form teams, create projects, and solve key issues. Our project is unique, its graduates have already made a significant contribution to the development of the region. Surely, you will also gain knowledge and competencies that you will successfully apply in the future.’

The students and graduates of the school were greeted by Acting Rector of Gagarin State Technical University, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Olga Mizyakina. ‘The UMS has really proved its effectiveness, relevance, and necessity. For us, as one of the largest universities in Volga District, it is an honour to be a venue to implement new management technologies. There is an increasing demand for young managers with digital and managerial competencies who will be ready to develop new technological solutions.’

A few universities are implementing the project, including Saratov State University, which is one of the leaders of Russian education, and it occupies a worthy place in authoritative university rankings.

SSU Acting Rector, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Igor Malinskii addressed the students of the sixth cohort of the school. ‘The Young Managers School has become a significant and one of the priority components of the multifaceted activities of our university. Here students receive not only theoretical knowledge, but also prepare practical projects. Young people have the opportunity for self-fulfilment, regardless of where they live, who their parents are, and what opportunities their families have. Due to the YMS, you will not only gain modern knowledge in public and municipal administration, but also to acquire advanced management skills.’

During the ceremony, the graduates of the 2018-2020 Young Managers School and participants of the new cohort shared their impressions.

So, according to this year's finalist, Junior Researcher of the Department of Excursions and Methodology of the Russia Is my History historical park Dmitrii Eirikh, each of the participants of the school had its own motivation, but everyone was trying to find their way. ‘It is such projects that open up new opportunities, professional prospects, and bring high results,’ he pointed out.

The training of a new cohort of students will take place at three educational sites: SSU, SSTU, and the P.A. Stolypin Institute of Management. Future managers will have a various educational course: business games, trainings, meetings with interesting people, as well as the best management practices.

If the projects are successfully presented, graduates will receive diplomas of professional re-training, and the best listeners will receive letters of recommendation giving bonuses for participating in competitive events of state authorities.
