Dear university veterans, colleagues, and students!

Victory Day is one of the most important events for our country and every Russian. We associate this holiday with the joy of the Great Victory and bitterness, pain in the heart for those who did not return home. Among them are teaching staff members, employees, and students of Saratov University. Every year we gather near our monument, and every year, on the eve of Victory Day, we feel gratitude to those who won the Victory in May 1945. 1,416 days and nights, 20 hours and 43 minutes passed from June 22, 1941 until the signing of the German Instrument of Surrender. We will never forget those who brought our Victory closer.

Eternal memory to the heroes! Eternal memory to those who, in the most difficult conditions, continued to conduct classes in front-line Saratov, who worked in scientific laboratories, who were on duty on the roofs of houses, helped the wounded in their free time in hospitals, of which there were many in our city, who restored the national economy and operated, worked for the defence of our country and provided the rear with everything necessary. Eternal memory to the Leningraders who were evacuated to Saratov and continued to study and teach, despite the monstrous exhaustion after the blockade.

We have someone to remember in these victorious days and we have someone to share joy with tears in our eyes. Happy Victory Day, friends!
