On 29 August there was held Annual City Pedagogical Forum entitled the Achievements of Strategic Goals of the Education National Project: Objectives, Means, and Directions to Change the Education System.
The forum was attended by Head of the Saratov City Municipal Structure Michael A. Isayev, Chair of the City Committee on Education Larisa A. Revutskaya, Chair of the Saratov City Duma Victor V. Maletin, rectors, principals, veterans of pedagogical labour, and representatives of non-profit organisations. Traditionally, Saratov University was represented by Head of the SSU Priority Projects and Programmes Elena G. Yelina; Head of the Office of Priority Projects and Programmes, a regional supervisor of hub schools of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) in the Saratov Region Maria V. Yerokhina, and Chair of the Department of Russian Philology and Media Education Olga I. Dmitriyeva.

Also he spoke about work with schools and pointed out that this year the issue of educational infrastructure had been solved. Michael Isayev suggested that teachers should cooperate with the city administration so that all educational issues can be solved together.
Chair of the City Committee on Education Larisa A. Revutskaya commented on the first changes in the educational system in Saratov brought about in 2018-2019 academic year. The chair marked 109 graduates of pedagogical universities and colleges had started working in schools this year. Moreover, Larisa Revutskaya talked about such projects as the Success of Every Child and the Modern Digital Educational Environment.
Head of the SSU Priority Projects and Programmes Elena G. Yelina presented her report entitled the New Perspectives of Saratov University in Educating Teachers. Elena Yelina highlighted that 25% of pedagogical studies consists of internships, therefore, school teachers-to-be spend a year at school. They have three types of internships – organisational and pedagogical, camp counselling, and pedagogical ones.
Besides, the head underlined teachers and principals enter SSU master courses as they want deepen their knowledge in that field. Elena Yelina told the guests about such SSU projects for teachers-to-be as the Entering the Profession and the Career Guidance Marathon of City Teachers and reminded about the Research-to-Methodology on Pedagogical Education.
She also paid attention to the objectives of corporate departments in schools: using educational and methodological potential of schools to teach students-pedagogues; organising project and research work with school children; education-to-methodology and research-to-methodology activities in educating teachers; organising mutual events prepared by SSU and schools; providing talented students with opportunities to demonstrate their abilities; organising and holding All-Russian, regional, city, and university contests and olympiads.
Michael Isayev expressed the gratitude to Elena Yelina for her report and qualitative education of future pedagogues. He reminded the school teachers that there are state-funded master degree courses in SSU, therefore, they can enter the courses and get professional re-training. What is more, Michael Isayev ordered to use the target admission more actively in order to provide schools in Saratov with pedagogical personnel.
Head of the Office of the SSU Priority Projects and Programmes Maria V. Yerokhina delivered a report entitled the Hub Schools of the Russian Academy of Sciences – A New Type of Network Educational Partnership. Being the regional coordinator of that project Maria Yerokhina said that the RAS hub schools would open on 1 September, and Saratov University would supervise them. The three following schools were chosen to take part in the project – Lyceum of Liberal Arts, Physics and Technology Lyceum №1 and Gymnasium №1. These educational institutions will concentrate on career guidance for school children and qualitative research and project work for students using resources of Saratov University and the Russian Academy of Sciences.
At the end of the meeting Michael A. Isayev, Chair of the Saratov City Duma Victor V. Maletin, Rector of the Saratov Region Institute of Education Development Larisa V. Kalyazina, and Chair of the Saratov City Committee of the Labour Union of RF Pedagogues and Researchers Nadezhda A. Buryak awarded the teachers with letters of appreciation and badges.
