Saratov will be hosting the All-Russian Student Project called the Theater Games from November, 25th-28th.
This contest for student theaters of pop sketches (STPS) is the central part of the drama sector of the Russian Student Spring – the Program for Student Art Support and Development.
The moderators of such a big youth project are the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the Russian Youth Union All-Russian Public Organization, LLC “First Hand Media”, the regional government, and Saratov State University named after N.G. Chernyshevskiy.
The project jury consists of the three guests. Its Head is an actor, a member of the Club of Funny and Inventive People (KVN) and the Ural Pelmeni Team, the creator of the Theater Games and the News Battle Preventive Measures TV-shows, and the producer of the “First Hand Media” Company Sergey Netiyevskiy. The other members of the jury are one of the most extraordinary members of the Kamyzyak Kray Team Denis Dorokhov and the director of the SDVIG Kazan Theater, the award winner of All-Russian and international contests, including the Grand-Prix at the Russian Student Spring Fest Alexandr Feldman.
The editors of the event are the KVN Major League Champion as a member of the Lieutenant Schmidt’s Children Team, a stage and screen actor Maksim Aksyonov and the KVN Major League Champion as a member of the Triod and Diod Team Alexandr Marchenkov.
This project is like a real treasure for student art groups. They will not only perform, but attend workshops and rehearsals with their tutors who will help the participants to improve their performances and make them unforgettable.
Sixteen teams from all over Russia will take part in the Theater Games: the Atas from the Volgograd Region, the Drama-Show Yellow Suitcase from the Lipetsk Region, the Jam from the Mari El Republic, the STPS on the Road from the Republic of Tatarstan, the Institute of History and Sociology and the KVAS from the Udmurt Republic, the Three Men in a Boat from the Tver Region, the Doping from the Tyumen Region, the Gamut from the Ulyanovsk Region, the Painful Experience from the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District, the Politech from the Penza Region. The Saratov Region will be presented by the Balashov Institute KVN Team, the Paribashte Studio-Theater, the Agrarnyiy KVN Team, the Mantra, and the SSTU Production.
The winners of the Theater Games will take part in the Russian Student Spring Fest.
The opening ceremony will be held at Saratov University at 6 p.m. November, 25th. The following day the teams will perform on stage, attend the rehearsals and workshops. The final part of the event will happen at the Saratov Regional Philharmonic named after A. Schnittke on November, 27, when the winner will be declared.
