Annual Student Conference: Results and Awarding

On December 21, a student reporting conference was held at Saratov State University. In the assembly hall of SSU Bldg. 10, the results of the work of the Council of Undergraduates and Postgraduates for this year were summed up and the university activists were awarded. The conference was attended by student councils of faculties, institutes and colleges, activists and employees of structural divisions of the university.

The event began with the performance of the anthem of Russia. Then Vladislav Bykov, Chair of the Council of Undergraduates and Postgraduates, SSU, a student of the Faculty of Sociology, spoke about the work of the council, shared the common successes of young people and their mentors.

Vladislav Bykov elaborated on the flagship projects and events of the Council of Undergraduates and Postgraduates, SSU. For the first time 2 years later, the traditional full-time Broad Maslenitsa was celebrated, a new experience was the opening of the council shift at the Chardym sports and recreation camp. In April, the Space Relay Race took place: during the week, students attended festivals, workshops, exhibitions, and quests.

The annual tradition of holding a tutor school, a school of elders and chairs, and an asset winter school continued. In November, the results were summed up in 11 nominations of the SSU Student of the Year competition, where more than a hundred applications were submitted.

Vladislav Bykov also noted the organization of the Council's grant events. This year, unique events for the university and the region received support – The Workshop of Events, the 8th PRO100 All-Russian Student Forum, the Create marathon, the 1st Mediawave District Media School of the Volga Federal District, an eco-tour along the Khoper River, and others.

The geography of forum companies where SSU students participate is growing every year. This year, young people visited Rostov-on-Don, Moscow, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, St. Petersburg, Cheboksary, Kaliningrad, Samara, and many other cities of the country.

An innovation was the appearance of two positions in the Council of Undergraduates and Postgraduates – Deputy Chair for International Policy and Secretary of the Council.

The effectiveness of working with student councils of educational departments has improved. To evaluate their work, a rating table of activity accounting, plans and reports of their activities, and media analytics were introduced. A Telegram-channel of student council chairs was created to involve students in active university life.

At the end of the report, Vladislav Bykov listed the achievements of each of the council's directions – Media, Mentors, PR, Volunteers, and Organisers.

‘Thank you for this year. He was productive, sometimes difficult. But thanks to you, the people with whom we work on a common cause, this year has become one of the most vivid and memorable,’ Vladislav Bykov stressed.

The solemn part of the event was dedicated to the presentation of letters of thanks. 26 students were awarded for their active participation in the public life of their educational units, 12 people were noted for their contribution to the work of the Council of Undergraduates and Postgraduates.

Head of the Department of Youth Initiatives Development of the Office for Youth Policy Maria Chevtayeva presented letters of thanks to the chairmen of student councils of educational units and activists of student self-government.

Then Head of the Office for Youth Policy Egor Sokolov summed up the results of the competition among the student councils of the SSU educational units.

The student council of the Faculty of Psychological, Pedagogical, and Special Needs Education won in the Contribution to Development and Mentoring nomination. The student council of the Faculty of Psychology became the best team.

In the Best Student Council of the Year nomination, the third place was taken by the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Geology. The second place was awarded to the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics. The Faculty of Law won the competition.
