SSU students’ team members met with the commander of Russian Students’ Team Central Staff.
Commander of Russian Students’ Team Central Staff M.S. Kiselev visited SSU on October 14.
Saratov State University is the first higher education institution visited by the Commander. M.S. Kiselev met with SSU Rector A.N. Chumachenko, Vice-rector for educational and organizational work I.G. Malinski and Head of the Office of Student Educational Work A.V. Golovchenko.
They discussed cooperation between RST and Saratov University. M.S. Kiselev talked about RST problems and ways to solve them. He praised the work of SSU students’ teams. In his opinion, Saratov students’ teams are not so numerous but well-known in the Central Staff thanks to their initiatives and active work.
SSU Rector A.N. Chumachenko believes in the great future of students’ teams. “Students are very independent in organizing different events; they don’t need to be told what to do”, highlighted the Rector. “It is great that they work or their homeland’s benefit – work as team leaders, tutors, builders. They go to other cities, meet with their colleagues, share their experience; it is quite romantic. I believe students’ team work experience will be an advantage for them”.
Later the Commander of the RST Central Staff met with SSU students’ teams’ members. Deputy Minister of Youth Policy A.A. Belovitskaia also attended the meeting. A.V. Golovchenko opened the meeting and read the agenda. “We worked really well during the summer. Today we would like to summarize everything and award the best students”.
Deputy Minister of Youth Policy A.A. Belovitskaia said the main goal of the meeting was to determine the direction of future cooperation in the All-Russia organization. “There are 108 different students’ teams in our region ranging from educational to medical. We would like to get an understanding what to focus on in the coming year”. Saratov students are the leaders of the Volga Federal District.
According to M.S. Kiselev, the main goal of RST staffs is preparation for the Day of Russian Students’ Teams on February 17 next year. “We need to revive former participants of the movement and attract new forces”, said the Commander.
Chief event of the meeting was the award ceremony. Daria Murzakova, SSU staff supervisor, and Maria Ilyina, press secretary, got diplomas and badges.
The meeting continued with a series of questions. Students asked about the Commander’s dreams, goal, interests in sport and literature. M.S. Kiselev compared life to long-distance running – those who have started fast do not always win. He advised students to find their main goal, set tasks according to it and achieve them gradually.
Chair of the Students and Graduate Students Council Georgy Bolotov suggested hosting a RST federal event in Saratov. “We have established good relationships with many regions. We are ready to organize a convention, school or forum and we would like to get the Central Staff support”, he explained. M.S. Kiselev supported this idea proposing some events for year 2017.
