On June 23, Saratov State University and the Slavic Association of Psychotherapy (the Republic of Serbia) signed the cooperation agreement online. SSU was presented by Rector Aleksei Chumachenko, Vice-Rector for International Affairs Dmitrii Konakov, and Dean of the Faculty of Psychology Lyudmila Aksenovskaya.
The Serbian Slavic Association of Psychotherapy was represented by President of the organization Nebojša Jovanović, Chair of the Board Yurii Tor, Coordinator of International Projects Nadezhda Rudenko, and a translator Milica Radoev.
The purpose of the association is to interact and exchange experience between educational institutions from all over the world in psychology, psychotherapy, and related disciplines. The cooperation with the Serbian side began last autumn. Students and teaching staff of the Faculty of Psychology, SSU, participated in online master classes of specialists of the Slavic Association of Psychotherapy.
Rector Aleksei Chumachenko greeted the colleagues on behalf of the university. He highlighted three key points of fruitful cooperation with the organisation by participating in various events and working on high-level educational issues together. Russia and Serbia are united by common Slavic roots, the proximity of languages, writing, and cultures.
Dmitrii Konakov also addressed to his colleagues. ‘I am glad that we are successfully cooperating with Serbia and now we complete necessary formalities by signing this agreement.’
Dean of the Faculty of Psychology Lyudmila Aksenovskaya thanked the SSU administration and Chair of the Board of the Association Yurii Tor, who appealed to the SSU International Office with a proposal for cooperation. She added that her Serbian colleagues had made a positive impression on her with their professionalism.
President of the association Nebojša Jovanović said that it was a great honour for his organisation to cooperate with SSU. I am especially pleased that we are resuming active cooperation with Slavic countries. My students confidently say that knowledge in Eastern Europe is given with an open heart.’
In conclusion, the participants of the meeting signed the agreement and thanked the partners and organisers of the ceremony.
