The staff of Saratov University congratulates the Head of Priority Projects and Programmes, Professor, Doctor of Philology Elena Yelina who has been awarded with the following title – Honoured Worker of Higher School of the Russian Federation. Decree of the Russian President Vladimir Putin No. 290 of May 18 was published on Friday, May 20.

The title was awarded for merits in research and pedagogical affairs, training of qualified specialists, and many years of conscientious work.

Elena Yelina has been working at Saratov University for 47 years. Professor Yelina has supervised 23 candidates and 1 doctor of sciences. For many years, she has been a member of the Council of the Federal Educational and Methodological Association on linguistics and literary studies; also, she has developed the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education. For 19 years, she worked as the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Philology, from 2007 to 2018 – SSU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs. Currently, he is the Head of Priority Projects and Programmes. The professor develops projects in teacher education with special love. Symbolically, the Presidential Decree was issued a few days after the graduation of the Virtual Pedagogical Course, a unique project supervised by Elena Yelina. Other hallmark projects of our university are the Week of Pedagogical Education, the Consilium Centre for Supporting Young Teachers, and the University Research-to-Methodology Council on Pedagogical Education. This is only a part of the events on the regional and all-Russian scale in education, which Elena Yelina is taking part into.

Everyone who has at least once participated with Elena Yelina in any project notices her attention to details at all stages and her complete dedication. Being engaged now in priority programmes and projects, the professor and her colleagues, in fact, connect the key university threads, helping unite different SSU departments. Another proof of effective work is the victory of Saratov University in the Priority 2030 federal programme. The preparation of the project took more than one month and required constant involvement.
