On October 28, the finalists of the TIME CODE 2023 All-Russian Festival of Youth Journalism were awarded at the Yekaterinburg Youth Palace. Content editor Veroniсa Kukhta and a correspondent Polina Gromova went to the ceremony from the Sweet Milk student project.
According to the contest results, the December issue of Sweet Milk became the winner in the Magazine category. It is dedicated to the exam time – from the advice of young scientists to motivational postcards.
The Student Spring: Mission Is (Im)Possible long-read became a winner of the II degree in the Multimedia Story nomination. The following graduates of the Institute of Philology and Journalism created it – Victoria Weinberger, Vitalii Ageyenkov, Polina Gromova, Oleg Trushkin, and Vladimir Sytko. The students were supervised by Assistant of the Department of Literary Studies and Journalism Elizaveta Syagina as part of the professional and creative seminar. The project was published in the Sweet Milk group in VKontakte.
At the festival, in addition to the brief conference and the awarding ceremony, the finalists attended lectures from media experts. Thus, the SSU participants listened to the master classes given by a photo editor of the Such Things online-edition Daria Aslanyan, a radio- and TV-journalist and a Business FM columnist Kira Altman, and a director, screenwriter, and the founder of the Luchkino people's film studio Pavel Morozov. The headliner of the festival was the general producer of rated reality shows Tatiana Mironova, who talked about how to start a career in television.
On Sunday, the finalists got to know the capital of the Urals better. Together with the speaker of the festival, Head of the Yekbwalking Centre for Author's Excursions Dmitrii Moskvin, the guests of the city visited the iconic art objects of Yekaterinburg.
The curators of the Sweet Milk student project are Head of Priority Projects and Programmes Elena Yelina, Vice-rector for Youth Policy and Organisational Work, SSU, Anton Golovchenko, Head of the Office for Media Communications Julia Anikeyeva, and Head of the SSU Media Centre Larisa Suvorova. The students of various SSU institutes and faculties issue the magazine. Its editors are undergraduates of the Institute of Philology and Journalism Ekaterina Seliverova and Inna Akayeva.
To remind, the Sweet Milk student project has reached the finals of the TIME CODE contest for the fifth time. Last year, the editorial board took the second place in the Official Media Account in Social Networks nomination. This year, more than 600 projects have participated in the competition, 527 of which passed the qualifying stage. The jury determined the prize-winners from 80 cities of Russia.
