Alexander Chizhov, a student at the Institute of History and International Relationsv, became the winner of the Person with a Capital P social project. The SSU activist received an award in the Perspective nomination.
For the second year, the Saratov 24 media holding, with the support of the Saratov Regional Duma, has been holding such a competition among the residents of the region. It focuses on those whose work or achievements have been noticed.
The contenders fought for victory in nine categories – Breakthrough, Dedication, Perspective, Profession as a Vocation, Medicine and Healthcare, Culture and Arts, Sports, We Support Our People, and Little Person with a Capital L. The voting lasted from November 20, 2023 to January 9, 2024 in the Telegram-channel of the project.
The awarding ceremony to the winners and the announcement of the Grand Prix of the competition took place on January 31 in the Russia – My Story historical park. Chair of the Saratov Regional Duma Mikhail Isayev made a welcoming speech. ‘Last year, we celebrated and honoured our fellow countrymen. Amazing lives! You can write books and make films about our fellow countrymen. It is very necessary, important, and right.’
Alexander Chizhov received a well-deserved award in the Perspective nomination for achievements in education, upbringing, and self-development. The third-year student has been volunteering for the fourth year. Alexander regularly participates in the expeditions of the Border search team, shows his abilities and talents in student competitions of different levels.
Now, the student is acting as the commander of the Staff of the SSU Student Brigades and leading thirteen units.
Alexander Chizhov shared his impressions of the victory. ‘It is a great honour for me to be recognised for my achievements in 2023. This award proves that hard work and the search for new opportunities are noticed. I will be glad to continue my work in youth policy, contribute to the development of the region, and look for new ways for self-improvement and growth. Thank you for the opportunity to share my experience and I hope that my work will inspire the residents of the region to great achievements.’
