Officers of Volsk Military Institute Told Students about ERA Technopolis Scientific Squadron

Saratov University has hosted a meeting of students and officers of the Volsk 33rd Central Research-to-Development Institute of the Russian Ministry of Defence.

Head of the Personnel Office of the Institute Sergei Sorokin spoke about the peculiarities of the ERA technopolis, as well as told the students about the military service in the scientific squadron and about the prospects for further employment. The meeting was also attended by researchers of the institute Igor Kostyuchenko and Ramil Gayfulin.

The guests were welcomed by Vice-Rector for Secondary Professional Education and Social Work Olga Nesterova and Head of the Office of Social Work Natalia Sergeyeva.

The ERA military innovative technopolis, founded five years ago, is located on the Black Sea coast in the city of Anapa. The modern unique project of the Russian Ministry of Defence is aimed at young people who have graduated from university and are subject to conscription.

The technopolis employees are conducting 16 studies. During their service, graduates use the skills acquired at the university to introduce advanced technologies and conduct research using modern laboratory equipment. In addition, they work with the largest research organizations and enterprises of the military-industrial complex to strengthen the country defence.

The students were shown a film about the working conditions in the technopolis, as well as about the opportunities of this project. Young people planning to serve in a scientific squadron have put forward their candidacies for consideration by filling up the interview sheets.

In addition, the staff of the 33rd Central Research-to-Development Institute of the Russian Ministry of Defence invited the students to work in their organization and do activities after graduation. Sergei Sorokin said that they would be able to present a dissertation and get a degree in chemical or technical disciplines.

Head of the Office of Social Work Natalia Sergeyeva noted that the service in the scientific squadron would serve as a guaranteed employment for students. ‘After serving in the scientific squadron, you will be able to continue research in the largest scientific and defence complexes and enterprises of the country. This will serve not only your career growth, but also provide a sustainable salary.’

The meeting was held with the support of the Regional Centre of Graduate Employment and to the Labour Market Adaptation.
