The Student “PRO100” Forum was opened August, 26th. Its main topic became World Festival of Youth and Students (WFYS) which would be held in Sochi in October. The “PRO100” Forum itself took place in the Recreation Center “Domostroitel”.
SSU has already hosted guests for the third time. The forum gained the All-Russian status last year. This time the number of participants was estimated by one hundred and fifty people from twenty six Russian cities including Saratov, Saint-Petersburg, Astrakhan, Moscow, Magnitogorsk, Uliyanovsk, Cheboksary, Penza, and Kazan.
Its moderators had prepared an eventful program on five directions: “Moderators”, “Coaches”, “Brigades”, “Urban Renovations”, and “Volunteers” (where participants of 2017 WFYS would be trained).
This year the participants were given training by supervisors and supervisor coaches from different regions: Victoria Chukhrina (Astrakhan, “Urban Renovations”), Anastasia Kondrashova (Saint-Petersburg, “Volunteers”), Ekaterina Shablina (Saratov, “Moderators”), and Irina Shustova (Saratov, “Brigades”).
The forum members took part in various training workshops. Federal Ex-Coach of the Coach Association of Russian Union of Youth Ekaterina Shablina and the founder of the Coach Association of Saratov Region Svetlana Krasnobaeva discussed public speech. They came to the conclusion that its compulsory elements are an introduction, awards, working experience, involvement in a project, and an ending.
At the “Target Setting” training the participants had to think about goals of the given objects (a pillow, ketchup, a puzzle, and a bridge) and present their ideas. This workshop was headed by Coach of “Coaches of the Future” Diana Sadek.
Supervisor coach of “Urban Renovations” Victoria Chukhrina spoke about her plans of the city improvement.
In the evening participants took part in a quest prepared by the Coach Association.
On the second day of the forum the following trainings were organized: “Effective Teamwork”, “Successful Data Submission”, and “Communication with Different Types of Audience”. The latter was headed by Coach of the Student Coach Association (SCA) Dmitry Nosov. He gave instructions for public speech. The coach also analyzed various types of an audience according to its age, number of members, and gender.
The “Effective Teamwork” workshop was led by another coach of the SCA Mariya Myznikova. Its goals included team building (strengthening of corporate culture in particular) and defining the main characteristics of a team member: responsibility, tolerance, punctuality and working capacity.
After that Head of All-Russian Youth Non-Governmental Organization “Students of Russia” O.V. Zorya delivered a speech “Easy Way to Career – Career Management of Student Volunteers”. He discussed the concept of volunteering and its perspectives underlining career possibilities of student volunteers.
At the opening ceremony the following honored guests were present: SSU Rector A.N. Chumachenko, Vice-Rector for Educational and Organizational Work I.G. Malinski, and Head of Office of Student Educational Work A.V. Golovchenko.
Protocol Assistants Anastasia Kovalenko and Yulia Martynenko told about the forum.
The forum participants presented the countries ever hosted WFYS – Austria, Bulgaria, Cuba, Algeria, Ecuador, and Russia, of course.
Students introduced their teams and showed videos about the above mentioned states. Austria was the mother of Viennese Waltz. Bulgaria was one of the countries where the Cyrillic alphabet was officially used for the first time. Cuba is supposed to be a famous island of freedom and “the Pearl of the Caribbean”, and its ballet school is highly valued in the world. Algeria is the biggest country in Africa with 80% of the territory covered by the Sahara Desert. Ecuador is one of the most unusual states of the continent because of the huge mountain range and a great number of sleeping and active volcanos.
SSU Rector A.N. Chumachenko gave a greeting speech there. “People are getting interested in the forum which means that this event has some advantages, and its impact can be noticed even now. The “PRO100” Forum is supported by Ministry of Education and Science, the All-Russian Organization “Students of Russia”, regional organizations, and especially universities sending their representatives to the forum”, said Aleksey Nikolayevich. “It is very important. Students work out the solutions to concrete problems. The forum has promising future”.
The forum will be closed August, 30th. This event is held in terms of the “UNIVERiYA. The Future Is in Our Hands” program targeted at development of student organizations with the support of Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and The Russian Student Center.
