On November 8-10, Dagestan State Technical University had been carrying out VII National Student Football League Tournament. Apart from the hosts, teams from G.V. Plekhanov Russian University of Economics (Moscow), V.I. Vernadsky Crimean Federal University (Simferopol) and N.G. Chernyshevskiy Saratov National Research University (Saratov).
Saratov team were favourites to win being two-time silver medalists of National Student Football League Champiomship. Fast scoring, intense first half and heating conclusion – that’s what SSU team brought to the game. Even injuries of several players (Andrei Surovtsev, Aleksandr Dryaev, Mikhitar Zakharyan) didn’t prevent them from becoming victorious with scoring total 9 points for three games.
The second prize went to Crimean Federal University, the third – to Russian University of Economics, and the fourth – to Dagestan State Technical University.
Morover, SSU’s top scorer Andrei Surovtsev was awarded Best Forward prize, and Saratov goalkeeper Vladimir Sugrobov also received a special prize.
So after six games Saratov team has 13 points and occupies the fourth position on the leaderboard below the teams from Tambov, Smolensk and Saint Petersburg.
Now Saratov team will take a break in the champiomship, with their next games scheduled for April 4-6. They will compete with the winner of last two years Kuban State University (Krasnodar), and also North-Caucasus Federal University (Stavropol) and Smolensk State Academy of Physical Education, Sport and Tourism (Smolensk).
