Saratov State University team got to the World Programming Championship finals ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest 2016.
Our team won the right to participate at АСМ ICPC 2016 finals holding the 9th position in North-east European semifinals of World Programming championship. The team consisted of Vitaly Kudasov, Eduard Davtian (Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics), Danil Sagunov (Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technologies) who sloved eight out of eleven problems at the semifinals. Team couch is a multiple winner of World Programming Championship, head of the Programmers Olympiad Training Center M.R. Mirzaianov.
Five universities have two teams at the top-20: SSU, ITMO, MSU, MIPT and SPbU. Other SSU team is also at the top-20. The team consists of Roman Glazov, Oleg Smirnov, Aleksey Ripinen (Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technologies). They got 16th place. Another team consisting of Ilya Los, Roman Kireev and Adilbek Dalabaev (Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technologies) is number 28 at the semifinals.
According to the couch, SSU students demonstrated high level of training and our best team is at the top ten. “Unfortunately, they did not solve one or two problems at the end. But they showed a very good result. We are already training for finals in Thailand”.
Saratov University programming team got to the finals in 2002 for the first time. Today SSU programmers hold five silver and two gold medals. Our team has been European Champions twice (in 2002 and 2006), World Champions in 2006 and Champions of Russia in 2008. World Programming Championship finals will take place in May 2016 in Thailand.
АСМ ICPC Championship is well known in the programming world. Leading IT companies follow its results and consider its winners highly prospective professionals. Among them are Saratov University graduates who now work in large international corporations.
