First parents’ meeting took place at SSU on 11 October. It was dedicated to SSU admission campaign 2015.

High school students and their parents came to the meeting. The Uniuversity was represented by SSU Rector A.N. Chumachenko, Vice-rector for Educational Work E.G. Elina, Vice-rector for educational and organizational work O.E. Nesterova, Vice-rector for educational and social work I.G. Malinski, university deans and directors.

The guests got booklets on how to apply. It has information about university programs for Bachelor and Master’s degree, examination lists, application deadlines, fees and contact information.

SSU Rector A.N. Chumachenko reminded everyone that Saratov University is among 50 best universities of Russia and has entered the ranking of 800 world leading universities according to Quacquarelli Symonds. SSU offers a wide range of educational programs. The Rector advised to take several Unified State Exams to be able to apply to different programs. The University opens 65 Bachelor programs in 2015.

The high school students and their parents watched a video about student life in SSU.

Admissions committee secretary S.S. Khmelev spoke about changes in admission guidance rules. Starting this year, applicants’ achievements are evaluated in points (with maximum of 20) and could significantly influence their chances.

Head of Regional Center of Pre-university Education T.V. Goriunova told about preparatory courses in SSU. She advised students to contact Admissions committee, faculties and institutes to get information and clarify any questions they have. T.V. Goriunova also said that Saratov State University opened its preparatory courses on 1 October. These courses help at the exams and during the first year at the University.

University representatives, deans and directors answered numerous questions about admission to SSU and specific educational programs.
