2013-2014 National University Rating was published on 5 June, 2014. Saratov State University is at the Top-20 holding the 18th position.
Number one is Lomonosov Moscow State University; second place is taken by Saint Petersburg State University; National Research Nuclear University MEPhI comes 3rd.
SSU has kept its position in the Top-20 among 161 other universities included in the rating.
2013-2014 rating includes data on classical and national research universities as well as technical, economical, medical, agrarian, and transport universities. The data is collected from university questionnaires and website materials, information from websites of Ministry of Education and Science, and various foundations and organizations working with higher education institutions.
Universities activities were evaluated on six key indicators: educational activities; research activity; socialization – reflects the activity of the University in the social sphere; internationalization or international activities of the University; University brand; innovation and entrepreneurship, i.e. the activity of the University in the field of technological entrepreneurship.
According to the rating, SSU shows best results in Innovation and Entrepreneurship having 859 out of 1000 points and holding the 10th place. In Education the university comes 15th, in Internationalization – 17th, in Research – 26th, in Socialization – 53rd, in Brand – 54-56th.
The rating includes only two Saratov universities, Saratov State University (18 place) and Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov (115 place).
National University Rating is a joined project of Interfax Group and radio station “Echo of Moscow”. The main goal of this project is development of the independent evaluation system mechanisms and procedures for Russian higher education institutions and their educational programs, Russian education system, scientific research and technological entrepreneurship competitive growth, development of regional universities as foundation for new economy. The first rating was presented in 2010.
