Anatolii Karavayev – Winner of 2023 Golden Names of Universities Contest

On the eve of University Professor Day, there have been announced the names of the winners of the 2023 Golden Names of Universities All-Russian contest. Chair of the Department of Dynamic Modelling and Biomedical Engineering Anatolii Karavayev was awarded in the For contribution to science and higher education nomination.

‘The victory at the All-Russian level is the result of many years of developing innovative methods of biomedical diagnostics. I would like to express my special gratitude to our scientific team, as well as the colleagues from the Institute of Physics, SSU, and the V.A. Kotelnikov Saratov Branch of the Institute of Radiotechnology and Electronics, RAS, whose unique ideas have been used for new developments. As the federal ministry has recognised our work, it proves how important what we are doing is,’ Anatolii Karavayev said.

The scientific group led by Anatolii Karavayev is developing the methods, software, and devices for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. It is carried out as part of the Priority 2030 programme and the RSF grant.

The award ceremony is scheduled for December 22. It will be held at the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

Golden Names of Universities is an annual competition that is held among the worthiest representatives of the teaching staff, among those who have special achievements in teaching.

In 2023, the organising committee of the competition has received 1,391 applications from eight federal districts of the Russian Federation. 177 experts from among the winners of the competition of previous years and representatives of 50 regional branches of the League of University Professors have evaluated the applications.

This year, it has included the following ten nominations – For contribution to science and higher education; For the training of scientific and pedagogical personnel; Young scientific and pedagogical talents; For dedication to the profession and following the traditions of the Russian higher school; For the development of applied higher education, and others.

The contest has been held by the League of University Professors interregional public organisation with the support of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of Russia since 2017.
