At 6 pm the gala started opened with acrobatic show performed by Fusion Dance from Astrakhan.
After the greetings from the show’s director Kirill Pravkin and the host Maria Demidova all 11 teams gathered on the stage alongside SSU Rector A.N. Chumachenko, Chair of RYU P.P. Krasnorutskiy and Vice-Chair of Saratov Region Government I.G. Kuzmin.
After the video summary of the first contest day had been demonstrated, Relax team from Kazan performed their Ancient Egypt styled dance. Men in Black from Stavropol MAXIMUM showed hip-hop with the elements of popping, Yaroslavl Millenium put up a Halloween party, Saratov Massive Attack played What? Where? When? on stage and another Saratov team, Art Mix, demonstrated their understanding of the name of the project by dancing non-stop and mixing styles. Equivalent from Kemerovo told a funny story in their dance, about a guy trying to write rap, and got themselves the highest grade for that.
In the second round the teams had battles on the actual rink. The first to compete were relax, Art Mix and MAXIMUM with Saratov group having seized the victory with their mixed dance style.
The second battle was between Equivalent, Massive Attack and Millenium, and despite the great work done by the latter only two other teams got through to the final round.
The last battle was made up of two rounds in which participants demonstrated complex choreography, acrobatics, support stunts and even Michael Jackson’s Thriller dance moves.
Having finished determining the winner, members of the jury surprised everyone and came up to the stage to dance that started a flash mob in the audience.
Each team received certificates and memorable cups. Equivalent from Kemerovo became the winner and was awarded a money prize and the right to participate in the final anniversary Russian Student Spring 2017 show in Tula and Moscow.
