“Territoriya smyslov na Klyazme” is one of the largest educational forums in Russia. Young teachers of journalism and journalists participated in it on August 22-28.The forum is a great opportunity to let the world know about you, so among thousands of participants 166 of them presented their own projects seeking to win grants for their realization. 28 projects were successfully defended and recommended to be sponsored with 100,000, 200,000 or 300,000 rubles, the total funding of grants being 6.4 million rubles. The third-year student of Institute of Philology and Journalism Valentina Luchkina also took part in the forum and won 300,000 rubles.

The student defended “The City of Three Fish” project of “SGUshchenka” magazine developed by the third-year student of Institute of Philology and Journalism Daria Zaytseva and the magazine’s editor-in-chief Larisa Efremycheva. The idea of the project is to create a free guide for Saratov region with every route being a story about thematically interconnected places as well as detailed maps and professionally made photos and panoramas. Valentina said that while there were similar routes in magazines and on social media, their project would let us see all of those on the Internet and via mobile app.

According to Valentina, the time spent at the forum was wonderful yet hard as she had to make corrections to her project, presentation and report right on-site due to a sudden change of requirements. Despite it she overcame her nervousness and fears and became a winner.

All the participants had only 3 minutes to present their work so many of them didn’t make it in time. Moreover, the way of presenting and the quality of preparation were taken into consideration and points were taken off for sight-reading. Valentina Luchkina was the seventh to present, and she considered the number lucky. Experts of TASS News Agency and head of the press-centre Nikolay Sergeevich Yakovlev were in the jury and highly rated “SGUshchenka” project. On behalf of the editing board of the magazine Valentina expressed certainty that the project would be successful and improve the level of Saratov region tourist life.

Saratov thematic routes had already been published as magazines and long reads. The author of one of them, Maria Silashina, was given “Khrustalnaya strela” award last year for the overview of literary places of the city.
