Chair of SSU Students and Graduate Students Council receives P.A. Stolypin Award
Fifteenth award ceremony of the Regional P.A. Stolypin Youth Award took place in the regional government on July 5. The ceremony was attended by Saratov Region Governor V.V. Radaev, Deputy Chair of Saratov Region Government M.V. Goremyko, heads of regional ministries, award winners, past awardees, media representatives.
Regional P.A. Stolypin Youth Award is awarded annually to young people of the region for outstanding achievements in science, education, culture, arts, and sport. This year there were 144 candidates. In his welcoming speech Governor V.V. Radaev expressed his satisfaction that the winners represent the areas of science, culture and economics where Saratov Region wishes to be at the top.
Chair of SSU Students and Graduate Students Council, Faculty of Law Master student G.I. Bolotov received the award for “Contribution to Public Life Development and Youth Policy Implementation in Saratov Region”. G.I. Bolotov is a talented leader of student movement. He actively participated in many publicly important events: patriotic and ecological festivals, youth forums, student self-government campaigns and social projects.
Among G.I. Bolotov’s achievements are: a victory in the I Regional Competition “Student of the Year 2012”, regional award “Youth Breakthrough”, final of the III All-Russia Ceremony “Volunteer of the Year 2012”, title Mister SSU 2012, honorary title of the Ambassador of the All-Russia Volunteer corpus of the 70th Victory Anniversary from Saratov Region, medals and certificates from the RF President for contribution to the 27th World Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan and 22nd Olympics 2014 in Sochi. G.I. Bolotov is the Chair of Joint Council of Learners under “UNIVERiA” project.
In his answering speech, G.I. Bolotov told that he was an award candidate five times and mentioned he received the award in the anniversary year of Saratov Region. He thanked the Governor and the regional Ministry for Youth Policy, Sport and Tourism for organizing competitions that motivate young people to develop further.
V.V. Radaev talked about volunteering, which G.I. Bolotov gives lots of attention to, and reminded that two important events - “The Immortal Regiment” campaign and “Wind Rose” holiday for school-leavers – happened with the help of volunteers. The Governor sees this help as the essence of civil society.
After the ceremony, the Governor talked with the most successful young people of Saratov Region. They discussed development of science, culture, industry and agriculture in the region and praised the young specialists’ contribution to the development of the region.
