Pedagogical excellence competition “Entering the Profession 2016” finished

Award ceremony of All-Russia students’ pedagogical excellence competition “Entering the Profession”, part of IV Teachers’ Education Week, took place at SSU Assembly Hall on March 25. The competition was supported by “UNIVERiA: Future in Your Hands” project.

The organizers were inspired by Oscar award ceremony; so SSU ceremony got the name of “Golden Pelican”. The event started with an artistic performance by Alyena Lykova (Faculty of Law) who drew on sand a short sketch about her hometown and warm-hearted relationships between a teacher and a student. The show ended with a picture of a pelican, symbol of the “Entering the Profession” competition.

Saratov University graduate Ilya Golitsyn hosted the ceremony. He welcomed the guests, students and the jury. Vice-rector for educational work E.G. Elina was the first to congratulate the contestants. She personally thanked the organizers of Teachers’ Education Week and “Entering the Profession” competition: Chair of the Department of Pedagogy E.I. Balakireva, Chair of the Department of Education Methodology E.A. Aleksandrova, Chair of the Department of Russian Philology and Media Education O.I. Dmitrieva, Associate Professor of the Department of National History and Historiography I.V. Yaster, Deputy Head of the Office of Social Work M.I. Kabanova. E.G. Elina added that becoming of a new teacher that the experts saw during the competition, is like a miracle. “Yu are all the best, you are all winners”, concluded the Vice-Rector.

The audience watched a video that reminded them of the beginning of the competition and demonstrated the best moments. They saw fragments of the contestants’ presentations where they shared their hopes and achievements.

Victoria Morozova (Balashov) and Snezhana Ishekova (Volgograd) received their golden pelican statues, souvenirs and diplomas from the Chair of the Department of Education Development Management K.M. Zainetdinova. She commented they the participants had lived a whole life during the competition. “Teaching is freedom, eternal youth, life without borders”, she added.

SSU Student Club artists Yuri Muntian and Sergey Makaida presented their show “Reflection”.

To award contestants who represented SSU, Ilya Golitsyn invited Vice-rector for educational and organizational work I.G. Malinski. The Vice-rector said the “Entering the Profession” competition was a unique event when a competition became a holiday. I.G. Malinski told a stiry about his mother graduated Saratov Pedagogical Institution and taught Russian Language and Literature: “I am truly grateful to teachers; there are no random people in the profession”, concluded the Vice-Rector. He awarded Oksana Skorobogatova, Stepan Akhmedov, Aleksey Miasnikov, Margarita Donich, Irina Kuzmicheva, and Polina Ganina.

A video on “Open Lessons” showed the contestants’ talents. There they demonstrated their potential inventing new teaching forms and inviting their students to solve unusual problems.

The ceremony came to its high point. Two young teachers, Ilya Saltykov from Glazov (Physics teacher) and Aleksey Miasnikov from SSU Institute of Sport and Physical Culture (Sport Teacher) shared the third place. Unfortunately, Ilya Saltykov could not attend the ceremony. Aleksey Miasnikov received his award and presents from M.I. Kabanova and College of Radioelectronics Director S.A. Karasev. M.I. Kabanova and S.A. Karasev thanked the participants for their work. In his turn, Aleksey Miasnikov thanked the jury, his colleagues and teachers.

SSU Faculty of Foreign Languages and Language Teaching Methods 4-year student Irina Kuzmicheva got the second place. She thanked the organizers and the jury. She received here award from the Associate Professor of the Department of Education Methodology M.N. Burmistrova.

Forth-year student of the Institute of Philology and Journalism Polina Ganina became a leader of the competition. E.G. Elina presented her award. Polina was very modest and critical towards herself and her work. The winner could not control her happiness. The audience awarded her with a round of applause.

“Entering the Profession” happened. Its final concluded the IV Teachers’ Education Week.
