Moscow Institute of Television and Radio Broadcasting “Ostankino” hosted the first student TV festival “Ostankino” on December 19-21. Institute of Philology and Journalism students Denis Ladonkin, Alena Bukanova and Ekaterina Tsopa presented SSU project “I Like It” at the festival.

The project team won first place at “Best Social Ad” and “Best Documentary” and the third place at “Best News Item” (the team consists of Anna Antonova and Anton Ovchinnikov; suoervisor R.I. Pavlenko). Additionally, Anastasia Minasian (Institute of Philology and Journalism student) won the “Best Reporter” nomination

Festival program included workshops by famous journalists and cameramen: on standup, camera skills, working with light, working before the camera. The participants praised the festival organization and New Year atmosphere in the capital.

The closing ceremony was attended by Soviet and Russian journalist G.A. Borovik, USSR People’s artist, State Duma deputy I.D. Kobzon, Russian journalists and TV host M.V. Zelensky. The ceremony was hosted by a famous MTV host Aleksandr Anatolievich.

According to “I Like It” editor Denis Ladonkin, “Ostankino” festival awards are very important for them. “First of all, the jury’s level of expertise. They are real professionals, leading journalists. Secondly, the level of institution that hosted the festival. It is great to present in such an institution”, says Denis. Their strongest rivals were the representatives of the Moscow Institute of Television and Radio Broadcasting “Ostankino”, but SSU team was the best.

“Everything that people from “I Like It” do is victory – victory over themselves, over their professional fears, sometimes over laziness. Every episode, every item is a great achievement for us. Interesting works by Anna Antonova, Anton Ovchinnikov and Vlad Popov often win Russian and international awards. Anastasia Minasian is bright, extraordinary, and emotional. These qualities ere noticed by the jury. We are happy to present Saratov State University at different student journalism competitions. Although this is not the first victory, it makes us very happy and we are proud of our University and our city. Our students move forward very fast because journalism is their life, their adrenaline, they could not live without it”, says the project supervisor R.I. Pavlenko.
