New SSU Website Version Launched

There is a new version of the official website of Saratov State University.

It is designed taking into account modern design trends and better usability. In particular, a multi-level menu has been developed:

– quick link menu;

– topic menu (University, Education, Research and Innovations, Students, Cooperation, Media, Continuing Professional Training sections);

– menu by addressee (Applicants, Students, Professors, Alumni, Partners, and Young Researchers).

The “old” version of the site started working in 2012. A new version has had to be developed due to the changes in visual habits, information behaviour of users, and the proliferation of site databases.

Having consolidated the brand colours, as well as developed the templates and the ability for departments to design their pages with advanced visual tools, SGU.RU has become more flexible to the changing conditions of the education and science market.

It is important that the new version is adaptive – the site pages are displayed correctly on smartphones, tablets, and laptops.

Given the complexity of the site structure of the largest university in the region, the development of services will continue. Thus, there will be added full versions of the Schedule, Staff, Conferences, Site Search, and Personal Account (for the teaching staff) services. New functional blocks will be added, which will allow you to quickly solve new information tasks of the departments. The presentation pages of the main menu sections, the English version, and separate sections of the SSU media will also be developed.

The technical development and programming of the website is handled by the Office for Digital and Information Technologies. The staff of the Office for Media, the Office of Priority Projects and Programmes, the Office for Digital and Information Technologies has developed the concept. The updating of the site pages is carried out by those responsible for it at the SSU units, as well as the staff of the Office for Media.
