On March 26, a meeting of the Academic Council was held at Saratov State University. The key topic of the meeting was the establishment of Pedagogical Institute at SSU. This was announced by SSU Rector Alexei Chumachenko.

Pedagogical Institute will include the Faculty of Psychological, Pedagogical, and Special Needs Education; the Faculty of Humanities, Russian, and Foreign Languages; the Faculty of Physical Training and Sports; the Faculty of Arts; the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Natural Sciences.

The rector's proposal to establish Pedagogical Institute at SSU and its units were unanimously supported.
