The SSU team presented the interim results of the implementation of the Priority 2030 strategic academic leadership programme supervised by the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education. From November 24 to November 27, universities which are receiving the basic part of the grant have shared the results of their work.

SSU Rector Aleksei Chumachenko commented on the peculiarities of the university development and the establishment of a new faculty.

‘We are implementing five strategic projects using the state grants within the Priority 2030 programme. They are based on an interdisciplinary approach typical of a classical university. For example, for many years our specialists have done research on the border of medicine and other sciences – physics, mathematics, cybernetics, and chemistry, which eventually has led to the establishment of the Faculty of Fundamental Medicine and Medical Technologies. The Technologies of Personalized Medicine strategic project is a logical stage of further development of this topic in research and educational practice of the university,’ Aleksei Chumachenko said.

Briefly about the results:

The Technologies of Personalized Medicine strategic project:

We have developed a method and device for non-invasive restoration of ureteral urodynamics in patients with pyelonephritis. The device produces electrical vibrations in the patient's body and stimulates the ureter from the kidney to the bladder with their help.

A unique drug delivery system has been developed that has selectivity and high bioavailability. The results are patented, pre-clinical studies are conducted.

The research on restorative sleeping properties is also done, our scientists are studying and developing breakthrough technologies of night therapy of brain diseases for neurorehabilitation medicine.

We are going to produce and sell caps for new-born babies. It is a device for transcranial phototherapy in a state of deep sleep designed for night therapy of infants with birth brain injuries.

Besides, we are developing an innovative technology for night-time photostimulation of lymphatic drainage of adult brain tissues, which enhances the elimination of toxins from the brain with the flow of fluids during sleep.

For the first time in the world, we have developed the methods to analyse the contours of nervous regulation, which can be recorded in the subject even in at home or work.

A new cytometer has been developed for studies of various blood processes, for example, the spread of cancer cells from the main tumour and metastases formation.

Due to the ICT-Electronics strategic project:

New models of two-dimensional hybrid materials have been developed to produce long-term high-precision UV radiation detectors. These detectors can be used for analysing biological and chemical substances, environmental monitoring, astronomical research, as well as secure communication between artificial satellites.

A composite for 5G-communication devices, which has no analogues in the world, has been developed, which will increase the efficiency of new-generation receiving and transmitting equipment by reducing interference.

The Chemistry and New Materials strategic project:

A method for producing chitosan asparaginate nanoparticles has been developed. Biotesting of nanoparticles revealed their high biocompatibility, the ability to accelerate the proliferative activity of epithelial and epithelial-like cell cultures and the growth-stimulating activity of test plants.

Our researchers are going to obtain cerium nanoparticles for radiation therapy by order of the Laboratory of Isotope Investigations, the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Biophysics, the Russian Academy of Sciences in Pushchin. The first samples are expected by December of this year.

A new material for the road surface has been developed – phosphogypsum road. Its production is characterised by low cost, and due to it highways should be reconstructed twice as rarely.

The researchers have developed a catalyst for the synthesis of acrylic acid nitrile with a unique control of the catalyst directly in real time.

The Digital University strategic project:

The Smart Classrooms project, unique for Saratov Region, has been implemented – a balanced modular solution.

The transition to the 1C University PROF IP has been launched in terms of supporting business part of the admission campaign and education.

The Teachers in the Educational Paradigm strategic project:

Also, we have come up with the concept of continuous training of school teachers.

The university has introduced the module of social practices and activities that motivate professional activity: the Week of Pedagogical Education Research-to-Education Festival, the Step into the Profession student teaching skills competition.

We have started pre-professional training of future teachers in the pedagogical classroom for pupils of grades 10-11.

The Consilium Young Teachers Support Centre has been launched. The concept of the Centre involves working with teachers whose have worked at school for less than three years.
