On June 9, in the Government of Saratov Region certificates were given to the winners of the competition from Saratov Region to receive Presidential grants for state support of research of young Russian scientists.
Four researchers from Saratov University are among the grant holders. The Associate Professor of the Department of Radiophysics and Nonlinear Dynamics Igor Shepelev received a grant to develop The study of the effect of shock waves in a gaseous medium on promising two-dimensional nanomaterials. Another grant holder was Senior Researcher at the SSU Research Medical Centre Anatolii Abalymov with the Studying the penetration and migration of drug carriers into three-dimensional tumour spheroids to identify the most effective carrier composition project. The leading biologist of the Research-to-Education Laboratory of Biotechnology and Reproductive Biology Yurii Gusev won with the Studying the possibility of increasing the efficiency of CRISPR-Cas9-transformation of plant cells project.
The Head of the Office of Scientific Work, Professor of the Department of Open Systems Physics Olga Moskalenko presented to the competition the results of the study of multistability near the boundaries of various types of chaotic synchronisation in unidirectionally and mutually connected systems with different attractor topology.
The meeting was opened by Acting Governor of the region Roman Busargin. He congratulated the young researchers on the award of presidential grants. ‘This is a high assessment of your projects and the direct interest of the state in their implementation. The acting governor noted that it was the younger generation of scientists who would lead the country in their own developments, increase the duration and quality of life.
The Rector of Saratov University Aleksei Chumachenko also addressed to the winners. He marked that more than 70 candidates and 10 doctors of sciences, including world-renowned scientists, had received Presidential grants at Saratov University. The winners of the competition commented on their developments. The certificates were presented by Roman Busargin and the Federal Inspector for Saratov Region Lyudmila Borisova.
The results of the 2022 contests for Presidential grants for state support of young Russian researchers – candidates of sciences and doctors of sciences – were summed up in December last year. The Presidential grants for research last for two years. Candidates of sciences receive 600 thousand rubles, doctors of sciences – 1 million rubles annually, including the payment for their work and the work of co-executors.
