On December 13 Balashov Institute of Saratov University celebrated its 85th anniversary. The concert was held in the Drama Theatre in Balashov. The SSU administration congratulated the institute – SSU Rector A.N. Chumachenko, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs I.G. Malinskii, Vice-Rector for Research Work A.A. Koronovskii, Vice-Rector for Secondary Professional Education and Social Work O.Ye. Nesterova, Vice-Rector for International Affairs D.N. Konakov, Head of Priority Projects and Programmes E.G. Elina, and Academic Secretary I.V. Fedusenko. Professors, students, and graduates of Balashov Institute had gathered at the event.
Before the concert the guests took photos in special photo zones, did the crossword, and listened to the orchestra. Director of Balashov Institute A.V. Shatilova told them about the platforms.
The Galaxy of SSU Balashov Institute became the anniversary topic. And the audience was invited on board to travel in time and space.
At first, the vocal group of the institute “Shining” sang to the concert members. And the guests watched the video about the history of the institute, its prominent researchers and professors, and modern life of the institute.
Then SSU Rector A.N. Chumachenko delivered the congratulating speech. He reminded next year we would celebrate the 100th anniversary of pedagogical education in the Saratov Region.
‘We can trace the development of Balashov Institute considering its hilarious pedagogical history. It has been successful for 85 years. More than 30,000 graduates work and glorify the institute. It became the SSU affiliate 20 years ago, and we are very proud that you are our colleagues! We will soar to new heights together!’ highlighted A.N. Chumachenko.
He presented a gift to A.V. Shatilova, and the teaching staff of the institute also received letters of appreciation of SSU rector for great achievements in profession and due to the 85th anniversary of the institute as well as letters of appreciation of the Ministry of Education of the Saratov Region for their dedicated work in education and high level of professionalism.
The concert viewers enjoyed the performance of arts groups of the city, the institute, and the SSU Student Club.
Minister of Domestic Policy and Public Relations of the Saratov Region E.Yu. Shcherbakova congratulated the audience on the jubilee.
‘Your institute is like a spaceship as it overcomes obstacles and improves pedagogical prowess.’
She read the congratulations of Governor of the Saratov Region V.V. Radayev.
‘The 85th anniversary is a serious stage in the university history which includes the best traditions of the Russian pedagogical education. Your graduates are effective managers in different government bodies. Your graduates are demanded, and it proves the quality of education in the university, high compatibility, and expert knowledge.’
Then the minister gave letters of appreciation of Chief Federal Inspector of the Saratov Region M.V. Alyoshina to the institute staff for their long-term dedicated work and high level of professionalism.
The institute graduates, who had won prestigious singing contests, sang for the guests, and some members of the SSU Student Club danced tango for them.
Deputy Mayor of the Balashov Municipal District on Social Affairs O.A. Dubovenko entered Balashov Institute 15 years ago.
‘I suppose it was one of my best decisions. I graduated from university 10 years ago as a teacher in history, and it was the first step into my career. I have pleasant memories about my professors and their input. You grow up, learn something new, and found the base for your future career during your studies at university. Other graduates and I will always remember that period.’
He congratulated the audience on behalf of Head of the Balashov Municipal District P.M. Petrakov and awarded the institute staff with letters of appreciation for their dedicated work and great achievements in profession.
Bishop of Balashov and Rtishchevo Tarasii marked that Director of Balashov Institute is a very kind and devoted person and she takes care of every student and member of the staff.
After that the viewers enjoyed the performances of the singing group “Talisman”, a child dancing group, and the SSU Student Club dancing group “Art-mix”.
The audience remembered the deceased professors and cheered the current veterans of pedagogy. The institute graduates and professors shared their opinion about the institute and thanked it for different opportunities.
Director of Balashov Institute A.V. Shatilova also congratulated the audience on the holiday.
‘We do not only celebrate today but analyse the perspectives of the institute development. Our affiliate holds its positions in the Russian higher education system due to the well-coordinated work of the staff. We have been successfully preparing pedagogical personnel. And I would like to express my gratitude to all the professors and staff members of the institute. We appreciate that we are a part of such a big family as Saratov University, therefore, on behalf of the whole institute staff I would like to thank the SSU administration and Alexei Nikolayevich Chumachenko for moral support and sponsorship.’
