On July 25 the IV “PRO100” Student Forum was opened in the camp “Chardym”. In total, 500 young people applied for the event, and 110 the most active of them from 60 Russian regions were chosen.
This year the forum is done in the Russian national style. Its main topic became dreaming, while its objectives included career-guidance assistance, cooperation between public organizations and youth, development of youth self-government, engagement of youth into volunteering, etc.
The participants were welcomed in the national style, and all the camp was decorated with Matryoshkas (Russian dolls), ring-shaped cracknel, straw, and samovars (fire pots), according to the main topic. Also the forum members should use special vocabulary: ‘veche’ for a national assembly, ‘community’ for a team, and ‘elder statesman’ for a team tutor.
At the assembly Chair of the SSU United Undergraduate and Graduate Council Georgiy Bolotov told the audience about the forum rules with following the regime being the most important one of them.
‘The “PRO100 Forum” is done in the Old Russian style, and its main symbol is the Firebird. If you find its feather, you will be happy. And we will teach our participants to make their dreams come true,’ marked Georgiy Bolotov.
All the members were divided into communities and played the team-building games.
After that the first trainings began. A psychologist of the ClassInfo Academy and a business coach Roman Doronin conducted a training, entitled “The World Is Changing”. He spoke about the forum and global changes in management that have touched upon the majority of people.
The second training was a creative one. A psychologist Vera Shapkarina held the “ART-Therapy”, where all forum members drew their dream in 5 minutes. Then the communities drew the house, street, city, region, country, and continent of their dream and gathered their sketches together.
Darya Lipovetskaya suggested that the participants should write their fears on pieces of paper, which were hidden in a special place. Also the young people made their wishes and tied ribbons on the Firebird making it feathered.
Then the participants had to create a short performance during 1 hour. The students re-thought Russian fairytales and enjoyed themselves.
In the evening Georgiy Bolotov presented the moderator team of the forum. They had prepared a role play “The Night of the Triffids”, and it surprised the audience because they had complete different tasks with their eyes shut. The game goal was to develop the following skills: listen to each other and help others.
