SSU Delegation Has Taken Part in the WorldSkills Russia Finals

Students from College of Radioelectronics (CR) participated in the 1st National Interuniversity WorldSkills Finals which took place at VDNH December, 1st. SSU Rector A.N. Chumachenko became the member of the Interuniversity Coordination Board, while Vice-Rector for Secondary Professional Education and Social Work O.Ye. Nesterova took part in the business program.

430 students showed their skills in 36 competences, and their work was estimated by 83 experts from Russian universities. Saratov University was presented by the following CR students: Ivan Yufin, Anton Samsonov, and Maksim Lavrukhin. Some college teachers became the experts in different competences:  A.Yu. Budyukov – “CAD”, Ye. S. Sotova – “Graphic Design”, and M.V. Khamutova – “Web-Development”. A.Yu. Budyukov and M.V. Khamutova developed the tasks and modified their estimation criterion. All the experts gained the experience and learnt the solutions to extraordinary tasks.

Students worked for 6 hours during two days. Maksim Lavrukhin took part in the CAD contest. His work was devoted to 3D-Modelling, its animation, assembling, disassembling, and drafting. Anton Samsonov designed the style for a children club (brochures, covers, wrapping, and posters) in terms of the Graphic Design Sector. And Ivan Yufin programed the “SPACE-WAR” computer game and a site of a real estate agency.

The business program of the championship was held November, 29-30th. SSU Rector A.N. Chumachenko and the other members of the Interuniversity Coordination Board discussed the main goals of the WorldSkills Russia and the National Technology Initiative, the results of the Project Session of the “Skills for Universities: 2018-2022 Prospects” Program, etc.

The other events included the Plenary Session on University Integrity into the Economic Territory Development, various project and pitch sessions, lectures, workshops, and panel discussions. And O.Ye. Nesterova, Vice-Rector for Secondary Professional Education and Social Work, took part in the discussion on university and enterprise improvement in the region in terms of the education and labor market.

At the awarding ceremony Deputy Minister of Education and Science L.M. Ogorodova pointed out the championship like that is unique. She added that the participants had learnt about their weak and strong points there, and the event was the example of the modern education program.

The prize-winners became MEPhI (National Research Nuclear University), Bauman Moscow State Technical University, and Moscow Aviation Institute.

The WorldSkills will be annually organized until 2021.

In October the qualifying round of the WorldSkills in 3 competences was organized in College of Radioelectronics (SSU). The college teachers-contestants attended the professional courses.

The WorldSkills gives opportunities to elicit people’s potential and acquire knowledge in production problem-solving.

The trip there was organized in terms of the “UNIVERiYA: Future is in Our Hands” Project supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
