Charity foundation ‘System’ is launching “Universities of the Future”, a new project for university entrees, as part of its all-Russia program “Elevator into the Future”.
The project is designed for university entrees and their parents. It consists of eight video presentations of Russian universities carrying out cutting-edge research and preparing new generation professionals. The videos allow prospective applicants to get information about university capabilities, its special characteristics, educational programs’ prospects, and admission requirements. Video presentations could be found at «Лифт в будущее».
“Universities of the Future” project aims to help promoting technical and engineering programs and courses of Russian leading federal and regional universities. Its main goal is to tell about regional universities’ work, about technical faculties and departments preparing students according to world standards.
The videos show the history of university foundation and development and describes its special characteristics and competitive strengths of its technical programs. A short but informative film has a university’s key information: numbers of state-funded places and pass grade, information about open doors days, and interviews with faculty members and students.
Only leading universities’ faculties doing applied research that supports innovation development of the country participate in the project. Today there are eight faculties carry out innovative educational programs from leading Moscow and regional universities: MSU (Faculty of Chemistry), MIIT (Institute of International Transport Communications), MAMI (Department “Design”), SSU (Faculty of Nano- and Biomedical technologies), Bashkirian State University (Institute of Physics and Technology), IKBFU (Institute of Chemistry and Biology), KFU (Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology), and Yaroslavl State University (Faculty of Physics).
The Faculty of Nano- and Biomedical Technologies was opened in Saratov State University in 2005 and consists of the Department of Solid Body Physics, Department of Semiconductor Physics, Department of Material Sciences and Technologies and Quality Management, and Department of Medical Physics. SSU opened Coating and Materials Engineering Research Lab that hosts practical courses and classes for FNBMT and College of Radioelectronics students. SSU professors and students carry out their research here. Lab equipments is used to study creation technology and characteristics of nanopowder, nanocoating, nanostructured materials, and sensor systems.
SSU has centers and enterprises that realize real production orders. They also work as training centers and allow to young scientists to implement their innovations.
Applicants wishing to enter the «Faculty of the Future” can submit their documents to FNBMT admission committee before July 25 at Bldg III, office 34.
