You can register for SSU online courses for the second term of the 2023-2024 academic year until February 28. The courses are available on the distance learning portal of Saratov State University, Ipsilon Uni. The training starts on March 1. The number of seats is limited.
The courses include video lectures, additional information parts, tasks, and final tests. Mastering the courses takes from 4 to 12 weeks. They can be useful as additional material when mastering disciplines or individual modules as part of the basic courses. In addition, after successfully completing the courses and passing the final test, these courses will be assessed instead of the relevant disciplines included in their main curriculum.
The Vectors of Russian state policy in forming national identity: a historical retrospective online course (authors: Associate Professors of the Department of National History and Historiography Vladimir Khasin and Anton Luchnikov).
The course is dedicated to the peculiarities of authority relations in Russia from a historical perspective, how its institutional environment has been developed. Also, it demonstrates the principles and forms of communication between the government and the society. Russia is multiethnic, and an important function of its government is to ensure harmonious communication that can unite and empower diverse groups regarding cultural, historical, confessional, and social features. The course shows the peculiarities of interaction and mutual influence of Russia and the neighbouring countries, its place in global geopolitics, as well as the dynamics of historical development. It will be useful to historians, political scholars, journalists, and all those who are interested in preserving sustainable civil peace in multinational Russia.
The Biophysics of electromagnetic ionising and non-ionising radiation online course (author: Associate Professor of the Department of Medical Physics Andrei Rytik). The course is aimed at the main aspects of the interaction of electromagnetic radiation with physical environments and biological objects. It considers the possible mechanisms of this interaction in all sections of the electromagnetic scale. Special attention is paid to the use of electromagnetic radiation in medicine for diagnosis and therapy. The course material can be used to prepare for laboratory work, flexibly focused on different levels of training of students. The course may be interesting for specialists and researchers doing research in computer diagnostics in biomechanics, biophysics, bioengineering, and medical physics, postgraduates, and students of the relevant courses.
The Social mythology: analysis and creation of a myth online course (authors: Professor of the Department of Theoretical and Social Philosophy Sofia Tikhonova and Associate Professor of the Department of Theoretical and Social Philosophy Dennis Artamonov).
The course is based on a communication approach that allows us to trace the complexity of social mythology due to the development of communication tools and the emergence of new forms for the objectification of mythological meaning. The authors pay special attention to the mythology of the modern consumer society. Social mythology not only determines the ontological level of ideas about social reality, but is also a tool for controlling and manipulating the human behaviour. Modern mythology combines both spontaneous myth-making processes and purposeful, conscious production of myths. The course reflects the socio-philosophical tradition of the study of myth as a phenomenon of social life.
The Legal support of public control in the Russian Federation online course (author: Professor of the Department of Constitutional and Municipal Law Elena Berdnikova).
Public control is one of the dynamically developing institutions of democracy and, at the same time, an effective way to protect human and civil rights and freedoms. The course offers students to gain basic knowledge in legal support of public-legal relations with the participation of authorities and civil society institutions. The students will learn how to protect human and civil rights and freedoms using the tools of public control. New knowledge will expand the horizons of lawyers. Confident knowledge about the organizational and procedural aspects of public control will be useful to a wide range of citizens and will help to defend and protect their legitimate interests.
The Strategy and tactics of sustainable ecosystem development online course (authors: Chair of the Department of Animal Morphology and Ecology Vasilii Anikin and Associate Professor of the Department of Botanics and Ecology Vladimir Piskunov).
The course gives the theoretical foundation of modern knowledge on environmental issues, introduces students to the scientific basis of modern environmental disciplines – nature management, landscape ecology, the basics of life in natural ecosystems, the basics of sustainable economic development of large Russian regions, the ecology of the urban environment and agroecosystems, as well as the health of the population depending on the habitat. The course is based on a new understanding of the biospherocentric lifestyle of a person – to live in prosperity, without frills, in complete harmony with nature. This helps to understand the basics of a “new” living environment in the world around us and, perhaps, even change something in life for the better. The course explains how to run a household, how to build a new smart ecological house, and how to use natural resources without harming nature.
The Lymph online online course (authors: Chair of the Department of Human and Animal Physiology Oksana Semyachkina-Glushkovskaya, an engineer of the Zoological Museum Elmira Kaibeleva and Associate Professor of the Department of Human and Animal Physiology Elena Sarantseva).
The course reveals the main features of the functioning of the lymphatic system of humans and animals, modern methods of its research. The anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system of the brain are considered in detail using modern methods of visualisation of lymphatic vessels of tissues and membranes of the brain. Lecture materials explain and show the functioning of lymphatic vessels in real time. Special attention is paid to the functional relationship between the blood-brain barrier and activation of the drainage function of the brain. A special topic is devoted to the technology of controlling the lymphatic vessels of the brain and its membranes. Each topic is accompanied by a list of necessary literature. It can be useful for specialists and researchers studying physiology, anatomy of the nervous system, biophysics, neurophotonics, medicine, as well as postgraduates and undergraduates of relevant courses.
