On July 11, in the Assembly Hall, Bldg. 10, there was held an awarding ceremony of SSU excellent graduates, the 2023 Graduation Party.

Chief Federal Inspector for Saratov Region Lyudmila Borisova and Deputy Minister of Education of the region Lyudmila Grigoryeva became the guests of the holiday. The vice-rectors, the directors, and the deans of the institutes and faculties, graduates and their parents, friends and relatives gathered in the hall.

Vladislav Kovalenko, a graduate of the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics, and Julia Ilyashenko, a graduate of the Faculty of Sociology, hosted the ceremony.

At the beginning of the event, the anthem of the Russian Federation was solemnly played in the hall. In a video message, Chair of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin congratulated the young people on the long-awaited event. He hoped they would take a responsible approach to choosing a life path.

Addressing the excellent graduates, SSU Rector Aleksei Chumachenko highly appreciated their merits and recalled what difficult trials and events they had experienced during the years of study at the university. ‘Our university is proud of you. These four years have been difficult, but together we have been able to withstand all the difficulties. You have shown valuable human qualities: during the pandemic, we came to the aid of our veterans, then helped collect humanitarian aid for residents of Donbass and other regions, have research, and have won large grants. There are those among you who have actively participated in public life, gained victory at the Student Spring, defended the honour of the university at sports competitions, and developed university media. You glorify our university!’

He awarded the students with certificates of honour for their active studies and research, volunteering, as well as contribution to the development of the SSU media.

An incendiary performance was presented to the audience in the hall by the winner of All-Russian and regional choreographic competitions of the Meridian folk dance group.

Chief Federal Inspector for Saratov Region Lyudmila Borisova took the stage to present the honorary certificates of the rector for their contribution to the development of the SSU social affairs and the university student brigades.

Lyudmila Borisova addressed the graduates and hoped they would defend the honour of the university, the region, and Russia with dignity. ‘Tomorrow, you will create a new world and multiply the glory of our country. Saratov State University trains in-demand specialists who have a creative and innovative approach to business, come up with ideas. Set ambitious goals for yourself, create big projects, and be true patriots. And then you will succeed, because Russia is a country of opportunities!’

Alexander Vaitsul, a multiple winner of the university, regional, and All-Russian Student Spring, a graduate of the Faculty of Sociology, brilliantly performed SHAMAN soulful song My Russia.

Deputy Minister of Education of Saratov Region Lyudmila Grigoryeva awarded the graduates with the certificates for high results in arts and sports.

Lyudmila Grigoryeva hoped the graduates would never forget their professors. ‘Your mentors have been around all these years, shared their knowledge, their professionalism and opened their souls, discovered talents. Low bow to them for this. I urge you to find your place and vocation in Saratov Region, get a job in our wonderful region, because we have many worthy vacancies. The university will never forget you and will open its doors to you again.’

The audience heard Elena Maksimova's song "Happiness Inside" in a high-quality performance by the head of the Light singing group, a winner of the Russian Student Spring, a graduate of the Faculty of Sociology Sophia Abramova.

Maria Chevtayeva, a graduate of the Institute of History and International Relations, spoke on behalf of all the graduates sitting in the hall. ‘At SSU, we have learned to overcome difficulties, become better, and found friends. Thanks to the university, we have gained valuable competencies, knowledge, and experience. I thank our mentors who have become the guides to life. I would like to thank the directors and deans, as well as Rector Aleksei Nikolaevich for their loyalty, patience, and support. Our parents, who influenced the choice of an educational institution, also deserve words of gratitude. Now, we are proud to bear the title of graduates of one of the best universities in Russia.’

The bright final accent of the event was the performance of the SSU singing group with IOWA and Yolka’s song Apple. Sincere performance allowed everyone to feel the festive atmosphere in a special way.

‘A graduate of the Saratov National Research State University named after Nikolai Chernyshevsky – it sounds proud!’ These final words of the hosts responded with a special thrill in the heart of each of those in the hall.
