On December 19, agreements on the implementation of inclusive practices in the region were signed at the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) to promote new projects in Moscow as part of Saratov Region Day. SSU Rector Alexei Chumachenko signed the document as part of National Inclusive Agreements. The ceremony was attended by Governor Roman Busargin and ASI CEO Svetlana Chupsheva.
The agreement is a public commitment to introduce inclusive practices into its work and create a barrier-free environment, which the educational institution undertakes. The result will be the admission of 40 people with disabilities to higher and secondary vocational courses.
At the meeting, such agreements were also signed by the largest industrial enterprises in the region. They will produce furniture for health reasons, as well as create additional jobs at Saratov enterprises for people with disabilities and support the Volsk Children's Rehabilitation Centre.
‘Creating an accessible infrastructure for all citizens is one of the priorities. First of all, we are talking about the well-being of people with disabilities. The decisions taken today will allow us to make significant progress in this direction. It is important that higher educational institutions and large industrial enterprises are involved in this work along with the authorities,’ Governor Roman Busargin said.
The Agency for Strategic Initiatives for the Promotion of New Projects is an organisation established to support promising ideas and projects and unites the efforts of society, business, and the state.
