On November 24, our university reported at the Commission of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science which evaluated how the Priority 2030 Programme was implemented by Russian universities. In addition, Rector of the university Aleksei Chumachenko, the team included Vice-Rector for Research and Digital Development Aleksei Koronovskii, and Head of the Office of Priority Projects and Programmes Maria Yerokhina. The university was also represented by Deputy Prime Minister of Saratov Region – Minister of Education Mikhail Orlov and Head of the programme of the Expertise and Functional Development of Gazpromneft STC LLC Pavel Sorokin.
SSU Rector Aleksei Chumachenko commented on how the Priority 2030 programme influenced the development of the university:
‘For many years, SSU has been seriously asserting itself in various spheres of fundamental science. And, today, having world-class scientific laboratories and high achievements in grant competitions, we intend to continue following this vector of development.
We understand that one of the main objectives of the Priority 2030 programme is to update research to specific technologies and products demanded by the market. Therefore, over the past three years we have strengthened cooperation with both regional and federal industrial partners.
Also, as part of the Priority, we have united the university staff around the programme and its ideology. This is especially true for young people. Our young scientists are the heads of grants, youth laboratories, and offices. They are actively involved in all the processes taking place at the university.
Our Teachers in the Educational paradigm strategic project is also linked to youth policy. This project was made under the order of a region experiencing a shortage of teachers. Today, we can say that the university has developed a system of continuous training of school teachers – from the Pedagogical Classroom for schoolchildren to the Support Centre for Young Teachers in the region –the pedagogical internship. Our university is one of the few that has developed the Digital Transformation of Education programme, which is implemented for teaching students by the Digital Department.
Due to the implementation of the Priority 2030 programme, we have changed, transformed, and moved forward. We continue following it. Undoubtedly, achieving the goals of the strategic projects of our programme will help us solve the tasks of the overall development of the university,’ Aleksei Chumachenko said.

In 2023, there has been opened the Digital Integrative Bioengineering Systems Interfaculty Technological Fablab complex of laboratories at SSU. The main advantage of the fablab is that students and young professionals have access to high-tech equipment and the opportunity to share experiences and ideas. For the same purposes, the university has launched the Youth Research Office, the training-to-practice classroom from LLC Saratovorgsintez, “smart” classrooms, the specialised classroom for the development of software simulator complexes, as well as student design bureaus. The new centre was established at the university jointly with Gazpromneft.
Saratov University is a university that is developing a modern concept of a continuous education system for teachers. And, most importantly, it fulfils an important social mission aimed at SSU implementing the accumulated experience of continuous training of pedagogical personnel for the educational system of the region at a completely different level. The pedagogical projects of the university are implemented as part of the Teachers in the Educational Paradigm stratproject.
The Digital Department project – the students have understood how important it is to get additional digital and new resources training for employment. The department has become an opportunity for professional development and for teachers. This year, developed by the university for implementation as part of the Digital Department project seven new curricula have been examined by the Ministry of Finance and highly appreciated.
