Traditionally, at the beginning of October, we express gratitude and pay deep respect to people who have chosen the teaching profession. Each of us has their own Teacher – the one who, with his or her knowledge, experience, wisdom, and warmth, helped us find our “I”, choose the right path to the profession, and find a place in life.
A teacher is always a hard worker and a fan of his work. Only a strong-minded and enthusiastic person can withstand such a colossal load and the pace of continuous improvement. That is why only the best, dedicated people remain in the teaching profession – the golden fund and the pride of the country.
In the Year of Teachers and Mentors, it is especially pleasant to emphasise the value of teachers' work, remember our own teachers, and hope that young colleagues will have a successful career start.
SSU trains teaching staff in almost all disciplines of school education. And, along with specialised pedagogical education, we try to include disciplines and internships aimed at developing pedagogical skills in students taking other classical courses.
The university pays special attention to the support of young teachers and pre-professional education. Thanks to the Teachers in the Educational Paradigm unique project of the Priority 2030 programme, the Pedagogical Classroom for high school students has been working at the university for the third year, novice teachers adopt the experience of their wise mentors at the annual Pedagogical Education Week and Summer School for Young Teachers.
As part of the system of continuing pedagogical education, an internship has been established at the university for graduate teachers whose working experience is less than three years. The Consilium Support Centre for Young Teachers is located at Gymnasium No. 7. This stage of the pedagogical module contributes to the adaptation of young teachers to the real working conditions at school.
We pay special attention to supporting talented students. An example of this is the Support Centre for Talented Children opened in SSU and the work of the Constellation summer school for talented children.
