On Saturday the 2019 Green Spring All-Russian Ecological Saturday Clean-Up was held in the region. In Saratov it started at the central part of the Kumiss Meadow Park. Governor Valerii V. Radayev participated in the event.
‘The ecological Saturday clean-up is organised all over the country. People are cleaning green zones of the city. Today new trees have been planted at the Kumiss Meadow, the ‘lungs’ of Saratov. And now people should keep them in bearing. Volunteers have cleaned a big territory in the park. We must preserve everything created by nature and see to the park. Our mutual goal is to save and develop,’ highlighted Valerii Radayev.
300 people, including SSU students, took part in the clean-up of the Kumiss Meadow. They collected garbage from 7 square metres and planted 100 trees.
Valerii Radayev examined the Berkutov and Andreyev Springs.
‘It is necessary to make the territory around the springs comfortable so citizens will enjoy sending time there,’ marked the Governor.
Students of Saratov University cleaned the area around the Silver Spring for a few days.
Then the Governor inspected the shores of the Andreyev Ponds. A group of SSU students also tidied up the surrounding area. Ecologists-volunteers noted that it should be forbidden for trucks to get to the springs because they destroy the dam of the springs. And the Governor endorsed the idea. The ecologists showed Valerii Radayev a new Coral Spring. Also it was marked that the 7 Springs ecological route would be planned.
The volunteers of Saratov University cleaned up not only the Kumiss Meadow Par but the SSU surrounding territory. Traditionally, they neatened General Anatolii Romanov Avenue on Astrakhanskaya Street. In total, more than 80 SSU students participated in the 2019 Green Spring project.
