SSU young scientists received certificates of Presidential grants awards

Young scientists of Saratov State University received presidential grants. The award ceremony took place at Saratov Region Administration on June 17. Chief Federal Inspector of Saratov Region M.V. Aleshina awarded the certificates.

The event was attended by the Deputy Chair of the regional government M.V. Goremyko, Minister of Education M.A. Epifanova, SSU Rector A.N. Chumachenko, SSTU Rector I.R. Pleve, Saratov universities students.

In Saratov region, eight young scientists from three universities received presidential grants; SSU representatives received four of them. In 2015, young scientist support awards were given to Associate Professor of the Department of Theoretical and Social Philosophy D.A. Anikin, Associate Professor of the Department of Open Systems Physics S.A. Kurkin, Head of Laboratory of geoecology M.V. Reshetnikov, Associate Professor of the Department of Medical Physics A.A. Sagaidachny.

Deputy Chair of the regional government M.V. Goremyko was the first to congratulate the award winners. He said modern universities give young people a unique opportunity to fulfill their creative potential. “In university, professors and scientific advisors’ authority stimulates harmonious development of a personality that acts and wins in a very competitive environment”. Supporting young scientists’ research is one of the key priorities for the state. He wished young scientists new achievements and thanked university rectors for their support of science.

Chief Federal Inspector of Saratov Region M.V. Aleshina noticed that receiving presidential grants is very important for our region. They show the results of serious work by Saratov scientific school. According to the Chief Federal Inspector, science is the platform for economic and social development of the country. “Saratov is a large scientific center that is proved by Saratov university representatives who force the progress”.

D.A. Anikin delivered an answering speech on behalf of all the winners. He hoped the grantees would become honorable members of the scientific community in our region and in the country. “Presidential grants have become a very pleasant tradition that shows Russia supports fundamental science. For me this victory means acknowledgement and trust”.

According to SSU Rector A.N. Chumachenko, Saratov University scientists’ victory is an expected one. “We do a lot to develop science and the result is quite obvious. Some time ago there was a huge age gap between scientists. Today we have a lot of graduate students and PhD holders in our labs. There are numerous grants and scholarships that give financial aid and moral support to young scientists. They feel they are needed and continue their scientific work”.
