The regional tournament of All-Russia competition “Student Leader – 2015” took place at SSU on May 27 and 28. The competition is held by the regional Labour Union of Education and Science Workers together with Student Coordination Board.
This year, students from four universities participated in the competitions; they represented Saratov State Academy of Law, Saratov State University, State Technical University of Saratov, and Saratov Socio-Economic Institute.
Anastasia Malkina (Institute of History and International Relations) and Julia Denisova (Faculty of Sociology) represented SSU Student Union.
This year the tournament had two rounds. On the first day, the tasks tested knowledge of laws concerning students: “Tests”, “Infographics”, “Blitz”.
The opening ceremony happened on the second day and was attended by Chair of the regional Labour Union of Education and Science Workers N.N. Timofeev, Vice-rector for secondary professional education and social work O.Ye. Nesterova, Head of Youth Programs Coordination Department of the Ministry of Youth Policy, Sport and Tourism S.E. Khodorov. The participants completed tasks “Self-portrait” and “Labour Union Meeting”.
The participants demonstrated their high level and superb results. Despite the competition, they supported and helped each other.
Competitions like this one help to find and train leaders, give students a chance to develop new skills, teach to work as a team.
Julia Denisova, SSU Faculty of Sociology, won the first place. She received scholarship from the regional Labour Union of Education and Science Workers and was nominated for the Talanted Youth President Award.
Anastasia Malkina from Saratov State University won the second place.
““Student Leader” competition is a perfect platform to share your knowledge and get new experience. It is a kind of ladder for labour union improvement. This victory is very important for our organization as it shows effectiveness of our work.
