SSU celebrated the National Unity Day

The National Unity Day is a state holiday in Russia. Traditionally, celebratory meetings and demonstrations happen all across the country. Saratov also participated in the celebration. Saratov State University students and teachers took part in the city demonstration. University Rector A.N. Chumachenko lead SSU delegation.

The demonstration went along Kirova Avenue and Gorkogo street and finished with a celebratory meeting “we are together – we are united” at the Theatre Square. More than 200 SSU students participated in the event.

Saratov State University received a lot of birthday cards and messages on November 4.

Russian Federation President V.V. Putin congratulated SSU students and staff. In his message, the President said that Russia has always been proud of its traditions of people’s unity and solidarity – on great goals, national freedom and independence. “Solid values like love for motherland, respect for national history, feats of arms and labor achievements have been passed from generation to generation. This continuity is a firm base of our national identity; it helps to successfully solve the country’s important tasks”, goes the message.

SSU also received greeting cards from Saratov Region Duma with wishes of good health and well-being, and success in work.

Saratov mayor O.V. Grishenko also congratulated the University on the National Unity Day. “Mutual agreement and respect, peace and friendship are very important for our city. I believe we’ll continue these traditions and build a new Saratov”, said the mayor.

Saratov State University received lots of congratulations from representatives of Saratov Administration and government departments. Saratov universities rectors also congratulated SSU.
