Knowledge of the Russian language is a requirement for entering Saratov State University.
The Saratov State University allows foreign citizens to take entrance tests if they have sufficient knowledge of the Russian language and possess a certificate confirming that they have passed the State Exam of Russian as a Foreign Language, or their education certificates have a relevant record.
The foreign citizens who have sufficient knowledge of the Russian language and do not possess the certificate have to take the State Exam of Russian as a Foreign Language (they can do it at Saratov State University). If a foreign citizen passes the test, he/she receives the certificate and is allowed to take entrance tests.
If a foreign citizen doesn’t pass the test, admission committee decides whether to enroll him/her to the 1st year (in this case, he/she has to take paid Russian language classes to receive the certificate of the first level knowledge of the Russian language before the end of the 2nd academic year), or to the Preparatory Department for foreign citizens.
