Head of the SSU Sports Club Vladimir Gordeyev was awarded the honourary badge of the Governor of Saratov Region For Love to Native Region. The award was presented by Governor Roman Busargin at a solemn ceremony in the hall of the regional government.

‘I am pleased to receive such a high assessment of my work. And our work is always a team effort, so I am grateful to all my colleagues. Such an award is not given to everyone. Numerous merits were taken into account, among them – teaching and refereeing work, activities in the Sports Club of SSU and holding competitions of various levels,’ Vladimir Gordeyev said.

Vladimir Gordeev has been working in the field of higher education since 1972: first at the Department of Physical Education and Sports of the Saratov State Pedagogical Institute, since 1974 – at the Department of Sports Disciplines, the Faculty of Physical Culture, SSPI, at the moment – at the Institute of Physical Training and Sports, SSU.

Since 2012, he has been the head of the SSU Sports Club. Under his leadership, the sports teams of students and teachers of the university have repeatedly become winners and prize-winners of city and regional competitions.

Vladimir Gordeyev conducts extensive public work as Chair of the Saratov Athletics Federation and Chairman of the Saratov Regional College of Athletics Judges.
