There have been announced the results of the 2023 contest for scholarships named after an outstanding scientist, one of the founders of the national scientific school in microelectronics Kamil Valiyev.
Igor Khairushev, a 2nd-year master's degree student of the Institute of Physics, who is taking a course in electronics and nanoelectronics, has become one of the 50 scholarship winners.
Full-time undergraduates and postgraduates with achievements in electronic industry could apply for a monthly scholarship.
Igor is the author of more than 25 research papers, a participant of conferences of various levels, schools, and seminars on microwave microelectronics, nanoelectronics, nanophotonics, and nonlinear physics, including the Promising Materials and Highly Efficient Processing international youth conference (Saratov, 2022, 2023), the Presenting Academic Achievements to the World scientific conference of young scientists (Saratov, 2022, 2023), Microwave Electronics and Microelectronics (St. Petersburg, 2021, 2023), and Youth and Science (Komsomolsk-on-Amur, 2021).
His scientific supervisor, Associate Professor of the Department of Solid Body Physics Sergei Sergeyev and Assistant of the Department of Solid Body Physics Evgenii Ryabov support Igor in conducting research.
‘Winning this prestigious competition can be called a success, because it theory is not always confirmed by practice. However, there is still a long and thorny path ahead, a lot of research, both practical and theoretical. I try to develop in the main direction of studying the properties of materials in the microwave range. Nevertheless, I have tried to study electromagnetic interference in multilayer printed circuit boards. Unfortunately, the technology of developing printed circuit boards is difficult to find in the public domain, although, there is a lot of literature on this topic at the moment, but it is quite problematic to practically check everything, especially in the current situation in the world,’ he said.
Now Igor is working in his degree field at the Saratov enterprise, Design Office of Industrial Automation JSC, as a circuit engineer.
The organiser of the scholarship competition, established in honour of a Soviet and Russian physicist, is the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The personal scholarship for students will be 55 thousand roubles per month.
Kamil Valiyev is a Soviet and Russian physicist, has Terminal Degree in Physics and Mathematics, Professor, scientific supervisor of the Institute of Physics and Technology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, one of the founders of the national scientific school in microelectronics. He led the development and organisation of industrial production of silicon integrated circuits for completing Soviet computing equipment and defence systems.
The scholarship is awarded for the academic year, regardless of other types of scholarships and other payments the winners have.
