The closing ceremony of the 2023 Touriade 10th sports and tourist camp took place in the evening of May 18. The delegates of Saratov Region won in several categories.

The event was attended by Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in Volga Federal District Igor Komarov, Governor of Saratov Region Roman Busargin, and Chair of the Russian Youth Union Pavel Krasnorutskii.

‘Today is an important, solemn day. Every year, when you come here, you do not cease to be surprised and rejoice in the atmosphere of the Touriade. When you watch your competitions, you rejoice at your success. The 10th Touriade says a lot. New competitions are new, as the youth put it, chips. People who are not indifferent have gathered here,’ Igor Komarov noted from the stage.

In his welcoming speech, Governor of Saratov Region Roman Busargin congratulated the guests and athletes on the completion of the sports and tourism camp and urged them to take part in the Touriade next year. ‘Saratov Region will always be waiting for young, talented people. Come to the Touriade, come here just like that. Come, because the Touriade is you, your hearts and your souls. I congratulate you on the closing of the anniversary Touriade and wish you all the best!’

Chair of the Rectors’ Union of Saratov Region, SSU Rector Aleksei Chumachenko and Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Organisational Work Anton Golovchenko attended the closing ceremony as guests.

At the closing ceremony of the jubilee Touriade, the participants were presented with musical, choreographic and vocal performances. The highlight of the evening program was the Victory Banner stretched in the meadow. It was deployed to the sounds of the Victory Day song performed by People's Artist of Russia Lev Leshchenko.

The last day of the sports and tourist camp was busy. A presentation of the tourism potential of Saratov Region and the history of the development of the Khvalynsky ski resort was held. The participants of the 10th Touriade mentally sat around the campfire with the winners of the competitions of the Touriade of previous years. At the same time, the jury was examining the works of prize-winners of the following competitions – Best Tour Route and I love you, Volga Region (video contest).

In honour of the 10th anniversary of the Touriade, the participants planted an alley of lime trees, which will now become part of the local landscape and decorate the place of the traditional sports and tourist camp of Volga Federal District.

On the same day, an intellectual quiz was held. In the erudition competition, the team of the Saratov region won an unconditional victory, which included students of the Saratov State University – a student of the Faculty of Psychology Margarita Rybakova and students of the Institute of History and International Relations Alsu Baidusheva and Ilya Karagodin. They answered questions related to the history of Saratov and played WowBingo.

According to the results of four days of the sports and tourism camp, the team of Saratov Region became the winner of the 2023 Touriade, won third prize in the Championship of Volga Federal District in sports tourism and took second place of the Cup of Volga Federal District.

‘Everything is fine with us, just today the intellectual quiz contest ended, in which the team of Saratov State University took first place. I don't want to leave here at all. During these three or four days we have become a big family and a team,’ Margarita Rybakova said.

‘This year, the Touriade is especially large-scale and wide. It is very interesting and informative here. During the work of this camp, you really understand what the joy of life is, and you understand that you don't want to leave here,’ Ilya Karagodin, a student of Institute of History and International Relations, shared his impressions.

SSU volunteers, led by the commander of the Staff of SSU Student Brigades Sergei Kulik, helped organise the Touriade.

To remind, in 2023, more than 700 participants from all regions of Volga Federal District have gathered at the Touriade. They were the winners of regional sports and tourist gatherings. The main difference between the 10th Touriade from the previous ones is that participants from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan took part in it.
